That’s sort of a cop out, because Soroka and maybe Fried were the only safe bets going into the off season.
Letting Julio walk was moronic.
Betting on Folty after last years weird year seems pretty dumb when you look at how quickly he was DFAd. It’s not like there weren’t warning signs and the quick movement alludes to prior frustration by the club.
Hamels would’ve been nice, but his health was always a risk.
Newk.... godalmighty.
Wright = see newk.
While basically everything that could go wrong, went REALLY wrong, but taking that many risks with your rotation is just bad planning.
Soroka, acuna, albies, and hamels are out. Folty and newcomb aren't on the roster. Riley and camargo have been offensive disasters. The braves still have a winning record. I do find the last sentence pretty amazing considering.
We're missing 4 of our top 6 players. Way too many injuries for a short season.
...and this is the Marlins.

You know the Marlins love their asterisk championships. They're going all the way this year.
and they were straight-as-a-damn-arrow

Riley is the new SVOD. Camargo is at least mildly productive though.

Julio hasn’t done anything this season. He’s started 2 games and thrown a total of 4.2 innings with an ERA of 13.50. If we need someone to do that we can just bring Folty back up.
We put together a strong pitching staff in the offseason that had lots of depth. Unfortunately we’ve lost a whole rotation’s worth of players to both injury or ineffectiveness. And the COVID situation just complicates things. Is this the season you want to use your best prospects service time on?
