Looks like that closed door meeting Fredi called has paid off.
When was this?
And any update on Fredi chewing out Simmons?

Fredi finally moves Heyward back to the top and drops BJ, and we are on a winning streak and back in the playoff picture. But he doesn't deserve any blame for ****ing it up all these months. Nope. Just credit now for finally putting a decent lineup out there.
Didn't help that Freeman was hitting like garbage, and Gorn was hurt and was awful when he came back off the DL. Justin was really the only offense we had for a while, and TLS.
And it somehow cost Stella! his job. You know, the guy who has .340 .426 .472 .898 vs lefties. Who did he lose it to? Gosselin. You know, the guy who has .261 .261 .261 .522 vs lefties.

What are their career numbers vs. lefties in the minors? I have no clue, but I thought Goss hit lefties fairly well.
I know Goss is significantly better on defense, is a better base runner, and possibly has more power so if he really has performed well against lefties in the minors, I can at least see a case for Goss in the lineup vs. lefties, but I certainly would not bat him 2nd.
People seem to over rate TLS and underrate Gosselin on this board. I believe it was 50 poundhead that first brought this up.
Yes. The Gosselin/La Stella platoon has some pretty good justification if you consider their minor league splits, especially this year in AAA. Also Gosselin is the better defender.
I think with TLs everyone is impressed with his eye at the plate which only improves with more abs while Goss looks a bit like a hacker.
I think people underrate TLS's grit, maturity and leadership oh and clutchness he's shown in his time up.

It wasn't me, but I think the La Stella love does go a bit over the top here. He's a nice little player who fits the team's needs well, but at his peak he's probably a consistent .725 OPS guy who is an average defender. Gosselin is a utility guy who has had a year no one really expected. But he is a utility guy. Thought this article at Talking Chop kind of summed up the whole thing succinctly.

That's a nice OPS for someone with no power. It means he is getting on base at a great rate.
