Simply amazing.
If we beat the Brewers and face the Dodgers or St. Louis we have home court advantage?
So how do we approach this final series with the Mets? Obviously we'll look to get a couple guys some rest, but there's also the matter of nailing down the 26-man roster for the Milwaukee series. I assume we'll go 13 pitchers, 13 position players. How many roster spots need to be decided? 3 or 4?
I would love to see a third catcher, but I don't see that flexibility on the roster. Neither Vogt or Contreras are good enough that you want the flexibility to use them while still having a backup on the bench.
More importantly, how do we approach the GDTs? Do we even make any? Do we do it and let a spot starter make them to give Slippy a rest? Is a week for Slippy too long of a layoff?
Obviously you carry the 8 position starters, the big three starting pitchers, and Jackson, Will, Minter, Matzek, and Rich Rod. That’s 16.
Obvious bench players: Joc, Heredia, Adrianza and a backup catcher (is Vogt healthy?)
Potential bench players: Arcia, another backup catcher, maybe Pache?
Probably other pitchers: Chavez, Ynoa, Santana.
Other pitching candidates: Newcombe, Touki, Martin.
Am I missing someone?
Reports out there saying Strider is being called up. Have to think it'd be for a spot in the pen in the playoffs.

This stat was always pretty dumb and not remotely something to be taken seriously.
Those websites should probably stop.
