His problem is he's just so streaky. If he can eliminate his seemingly frequent stretches of 7Ks in 9 ABs, he can be in the MVP discussion.

a lot of that has to do with the Braves doing their part and getting him some protection. I think Kemp has already begun helping.

Ironically he used to be extremely consistent and the knock on him was that he didnt have 30 HR power and didnt put up a .900+ OPS. Now he is on pace for these things and the knock is that he is inconsistent. Looking at his splits he has the same OPS vs lefties and righties this year. He has the same OPS in the first half as the second half so far. He has hit a lot better on the road but still a .832 OPS at home. He hasnt performed that well with RISP but thats because he is being pitched around in those situations. As evident by his .400 OBP in almost all men on base splits. As streaky as you say his worst month isnt even all that bad. He had about a .750 OPS through the first 2 months and since then he has been crushing the ball. Heck, he is even on pace for 8 triples and has 4 stolen bases with 0 caught stealing.

absolutely not! Our horrendous start is closer to how horrible we are! I do agree. Our bullpen is going to be really good no matter what.
 
And man, enough cannot be said about how great Jim Johnson has been. A team would be so stupid not to take a chance on him.
