GDT: BRAVES VS TWINS: SWANSON MLB DEBUT!

?@KevinMcAlpin

Over his last 21 appearances, Eric O'Flaherty has posted an 8.50 ERA (17 ER/18 IP) with 8 walks & 13 strikeouts. #Braves

What is this trash compactor on the mound right now? He has walked three straight batters one of which was the pitcher.

So much for showcasing Hursh. Hope they don't waste a roster spot on him this winter.

Swanson's not ready, I don't care how he performs for the rest of the year. For all I care he could hit .500 with a 1.000 OPS over the next month and a half and it doesn't mean anything. He's not ready and he shouldn't be on the big leaguer roster. We are setting ourselves back 20 years by making this move just like we did rushing Andruw and Heyward to the bigs.

He could only hit home runs in every single at bat, breaking the single season home run record, and he still wouldn't be ready.

Markakis might get double figures in HRs. I wonder if the Braves put him on waivers and if he cleared if they did.

It would make some sense to do so. Not sure if a deal would be done before August 31st, but I do think Markakis will be elsewhere come Opening Day 2017.

I agree. I understand the salary part of the problem, but he could be a contributor in the right situation. His OBP is down, but his SLG is up. Can't play D anymore, but I would think that he could help someone.

Here's last 8 Wednesday night games going back to April...

Pitt -- 19,281

Cle -- 16,600

Cinn -- 14,953

SF -- 15,107

Mil -- 12,869

Philly -- 13,760

LAD -- 16,087

Wash -- 18,531

Avg Wed night crowd -- 15,899

I also took the avg of the crowd for the overall losing record teams (reds, Brewers, and Phillies). That avg attendance is 13,851.

Tonight's attendance was 19,304. So Enscheff, looks like dansby helped with attendance

Doesn't school start in Georgia next week? Probably a lot more people in town as well. But there were probably some who came out that would have stayed home otherwise.
