GDT: Giants @ Braves 5/4

Thanks for the dig.

Regardless your logic is sound aside from the fact he will cost us games in a year we could make the playoffs.

No dig: thirst is thirst. Own it, but don’t belabor it.

If Foltynewicz is has been as lucky, and is as bad, as you maintain, then teams around the league—more perspicacious than you, without question—are not going to trade anything worthwhile for him. Thus even your own “logic”—itself just a thirsty guise to get Fried into the rotation—undoes itself.

The only option via-à-vis Foltynewicz, at this point, is patience.
I think he could legitimately be traded for a decent return, but we shouldn't do it because we don't have enough actually reliable starters.

Fried isn't the answer, and we need him as insurance for McCarthy.

The thirst wasn't the dig part. Whatever, you don't care for me and I realize the reasons. I don't do myself any favors but when the pile on happens for the many things I get wrong and how I act some simple acknowledgement of what I get rght would be appropriate.

When fried gets his inevitable chance we will see if my evaluation in him is as good as it was in folty and newk.

You aren’t right though.

trading folty to put fried in the rotation is a bad idea.

I suggested trading him why he still has value as a starter in the past. Not just for him, but because I like our other starting pitching prospects better.

Hell, I myself suggested trading him after the season, if he has a relatively good season, because he’s about to get expensive.

It’s the knee-jerk overreactions that I think are silly and misguided.

So what would a trade for 4 months of macahdo look like?

The dbacka got jd Martinez for free... I assume Machado would not be free but would be expensive?

There will be a feeding frenzy for hjm. I expect 2 months will be very expensive. Some contender will give up 2 FV 55 prospects

yep...while McCarthy has been good he can break at any time, we can't trade any starters at the moment...sorry...the depth is needed.

Now if we pull off a trade for like say...maybe buying low on Marcus Stroman later on, then that's a different story. Then maybe we don't see Folty again.

I don't have any time for people that are jacka**es like Folty, just don't see things as sunshine and roses with every pitching prospect. Mike Soroka is safe and a potential TOR (but not true ace) if his velocity gains are real, if Sean Newcomb dropping his walk rate is real, he might be that as well. Gohara is electric if he gets himself together, perhaps Allard becomes "safe" if he keeps going at AAA (but unless he does what Soroka did, he becomes a safe MOR). Kyle Wright was also highly touted.
