Well aybar prevented it from going to the outfield and it should've been an out, so I'm not sure how you can give aybar an out even though the throw was bad

I don't know if Gant will ever be a starter but that Vulcan splitter is a unique enough offering that paired with his fastball he could have a long career as a reliever.
