GDT: NLCS Game 3 Braves vs Dodgers

That wasn't the point of my post. The point is the alternative to starting Camargo @ 3b is to start Flowers (whether at C or DH). The offensive difference likely isn't significant enough to risk Ozuna's terrible defense in LF. May be over a larger sample size, but for 1 game, give me the better defensive set-up.

I think guarding against the downside of Ozuna costing the team runs defensively far outweighs the benefit of Flowers batting instead of Camargo.

This is the the best lineup vs LHP, but that may just be the risk aversion in me talking though.

Really hope we go into tonight assuming this is the biggest game of the series. If we win and go up 3-0 on the Dodgers, they have to go 4-0 the rest of the way out. Every game becomes an elimination game. They won't be able to afford to rest their best relievers and starters may have to come in to pitch an inning or so.

On the other hand, if the Braves lose tonight, Kershaw goes tomorrow vs Wilson. All of the sudden, the Dodgers could have the series tied and all the pressure goes back on us.

We took away home field advantage from them by winning the first two. We cannot let them take it back from us tonight.

In the end the Braves need to win Fried's next start and one more. I'm somewhat confident we can do that.

The pressure is on the Dodgers no matter what happens. They MUST win the NLCS AND World Series or the season is a failure.

I read somewhere (and of course can't remember where, likely twitter), that Urias would likely be 75-85 pitches. He's really good, but has been injured a ton in the past and so still has the kid gloves on so to speak. He's not a guy that's gonna throw 110 pitches over 8 innings. If we're not into their pen by the 6th I'll be stunned

His high pitch count for the season is 96. But in the playoffs, he had two appearances of 52 and 68 pitches. Not even sure how stretched out he is, since Dodgers were using him as a weapon out of relief. Have no idea what they are going to do if Kershaw is out for this series.

I just hope we don’t run down TDA too much. That’s the risk I’m most worried about. I do understand not wanting to put Ozuna in the field though. I feel like we’ll have to at some point though. The hope would be that Pache and Acuña could cover enough for him on defense.

Man if Kershaw can’t come back the Dodgers are screwed. Best they can hope for right now is to pitch him against our bullpen game and hope he can give them an inning or 2 out of the pen in a game 7. Him being scratched last night really jacked up their pitching for the series.

They would likely have to go with multiple bullpen games. One of which May would play a big role (let's hope they need him before then). Not sure they want to bring Beuhler back on short rest due to the blister issue.

I almost think we should rig our matchups where Fried is matched up with their worst remaining starter, to give us a better shot at guaranteeing that win, even if we're far more likely to lose in a game against Buehler. If we can manage to take one of these next two games starting Wright and Wilson, I think this strategy would be even more effective.

Its crazy to be up 2-0 in a series and still be deathly scared of losing. Teams who have gone down 0-2 are 3-28 all time at this stage.

We ain’t deathly afraid of them at all. Our battered fan base clearly is, but these kids don’t know any better. All they know is kick ass.
