Heyman: Freeman expected to miss significant ime

I hope we don't go outside the organization. If Freddie misses significant time no one we replace him with is going to help us. Without him the season is toast and we're on our way to the cellar. So why go outside the organization? Just give some internal options some ABs.

The problem is there are no internal options that are viable. With Garcia on the DL, you have Peterson and Camargo to take that spot. With Freeman on the DL, for now you have Carmargo on 3b and Peterson at 1b. So your bench is Suzuki/Flowers, Santana, and Emilio....Who would we bring up from the minors? Ruiz to platoon at 3b? I'd rather him get more steady at bats at AAA.

James Loney's name was thrown around, may not be a bad option to take Freeman's place. Should be inexpensive.

Wouldn't surprise me if the team did something weird by putting Phillips at 2nd, Albies at 3rd and Petersen at first.

I'd be stunned if they did that.

Why in the world mess with Albies position, promote him, and move Peterson to first all in a year where we don't have a chance?? If they did something like that they should rightfully be blasted.

How about instead of that.... we just find some journeyman first baseman, insert him into the lineup and not mess with Albies, let Peterson get healthy and play his regular position and just do nothing else except deal veterans until Freeman gets back? That's the smart play here.

You've officially now proven that you are the flaming idiot everyone's accused you of being by taking that as a serious post.

You seriously need a life.

You calling someone an idiot is pure comedy. How did your proposed Sale trade turn out? Should we dig through your blog of drivel and rehash it?

Now off you go, back to selling double-wides at the nearby trailer park.

Fracture confirmed.

Out at least 8 weeks.

Per Rosenthal per sources.

that's just cruel.

Be patient with him, let him come back slowly, don't do anything stupid (like trading for a 'needed' bat), stay the course.

Ok, so at least 8 weeks. That's like just past the All Star break. Then he has a weeks of rehab. That puts him coming back (if all things go right) around the trade deadline?
