Yes they do plenty --- and I'd argue most of what they do in the NFL (celebrating, spiking the ball, waving arms, staring down) would be deemed TOTALLY unacceptable by MLB players and disrespectful to the core.

I get that the two sports have different cultures, but baseball is over the top with this stuff. Get over yourself (not you, baseball players) if you give up a home run and the guy flips his bat --- maybe be more upset with the pitch you threw than the bat the flipped.

You're comparing some guy hitting a home run and then flipping his bat, to a random dude coming up to me on the street for no reason and trying to pick a fight. If you think those two things are similar, I'm at a loss.

Why does it matter? He hit the bomb, he can flip his bat. If he's doing that to 'show up' the Braves -- how about next time you just get him out?

They're both situations in which someone is trying to instigate something. That's why they're comparable. Not someone simply flipping his bat, but what Bautista was doing last night and the context in which he did it.

We disagree, I don't think those situations are remotely comparable.

I mean why not just ask me, 'If you were in prison and some guy with a shank came at you......'

we are talking about baseball, not some random thug coming up to me on the street looking to throw down.

I wasn't talking about a dude trying to fight you or cause physical harm to you. That's where your understanding of my analogy is falling through.

That's sounds a lot like trying to start a fight. Its not a good analogy, you're comparing some random person coming at me in the street and trying to instigate something, to Jose Bautista flipping a bat after a homer. They're not close to each other.
 
While to people keep saying it was just a bat flip..it wasn't just a bat flip. It was admiring, then glaring at the pitcher and then bat flip. That is not celebrating. As people have stated it was showing up the other team (in a game they were losing by 5 runs). You also have to add in the hit batsmen, and the derogatory comment from Pillar. All of it contributed to the Braves reaction to Bautista.
