Hollywood/Political Sex Offense Scandals (Now Louis CK and AL-GOPSenateNom Roy Moore)

OK cool.

I'll go accuse goldy of molesting children, and based on that alone, you'll never get a job again.

Makes sense

If goldy and you were directly related to a child molestation case involving a colleague, then your analogy might have merit.

how many instances of one shaky accusation taking down a person are there? it's not the case with anyone who's been discussed so far. if schiano saw that happening and did little to nothing, sure, i could see that being held against him.

one random accusation hasn't crushed anyone.

Thats not going to win over republican voters. You see 4 sweet little girls, they see 4 crackwhores who probably got what they deserved.

I fail to see the issue with Schiano. Our own elected officials told our military to stand down and let Men rape boys in Afghanistan. If its okay for the President to look the other way at thousands of little boys being raped why should we hold an NFL coach to a higher standard?

cajun has a point

have fun so called freedom lover, you make up quotes and stances of mine anyway. add another fabrication, have fun with it

only big thing i can think of where someone was screwed by a single, unsubstantiated accusation was ezekiel elliott. but i don't even believe the NFL believed the woman, just think there was shadier stuff going on.

I mean... it just happened with Shiano.

There was so little evidence against him that they didn't even press charges. And yet, he's now been blacklisted from ever getting a head coaching job ever again.

We now auto-assume guilt. And if anyone doesn't defend that position, dumb**** goldy will accuse of being a child raper enabler.

weird

i believe in both of those things

cause they are both factually in this world at times unfortunately

McQueary testified to that tho, didn't he?
And who said Schiano will never get a HC job again? He still currently has a prestigious job right now, albeit not as a HC. If people don't want someone even mildly associated with that whole mess leading their big-time CFB team, then that's understandable.

You won't find many instances of one woman making an accusation against a man and everyone believing it. Due process is applicable when it comes to actual court, not the court of public opinion. I don't need Roy Moore to be confirmed guilty (in a trial that won't happen) to believe the many accusers. This idea that people are quick to auto-believe every accusation is off base. It ignores context and nuance.

republicans on sexual harassment/abuse: deny it in the face of many harassed/abused women, pretend it never happened, vote the abuser into office.

Sounds like both parties are pieces of ****.

But hey, libertarians are unicorns, so let's keep voting them both in

Every time you suggest that voting for a fringy third party would magically fix things, you confirm the label.

To be clear: people who claim "women lie about rape to get money" literally paid a woman to lie about rape... #ProjectVeritas

i wouldn't call both parties the same on this issue, however. i do wish we could stop trying to make this a partisan issue at all. it's bad on both sides and both sides should be better at addressing it.

calling on moore to leave the race is only done because he's now very vulnerable. calling on franken to resign while leaving trump alone is about as hypocritical as anything i've ever seen.

How about the novel idea of calling on them (those with credible accusations against them - Moore, Conyers, Francine, TrumP, etc.) all to hit the road? And when they don't, and party loyalists not pressuring them to do so, recognize it for what it is - enabling creeps for political "gain." And then the moral bankruptcy of the enablers...

I predict every Republican not named Rand Paul will have sexual assault allegations made against them after they win the Republican nomination. Politics is a dirty business. Accusations real and false are going to be weaponized. There are a lot of people out there who want to do away with due process for men accuse of sex crimes. Any allegation is going to be considered fact by a sizeable chunk of voters.
