HRC

Especially since he didn't receive nearly the number or quality of DNC platform concessions he had originally entertained.

But like the Bern said (or at least insinuated), "it's I'll take half a loaf" time. He readily acknowledged that the things he believes in won't have a snowballs chance in Hades of happening in a Trump administration.

All my libertarian friends on Facebook posting memes about how ron Paul didn't sell out to McCain and Romney.

Must have ignored when Romney and Paul had a backroom understanding of not attacking each other during the primary season in 2012. Also, Paul might have been the "grandfather" of the Tea party but he sure did nothing to stop the disease of Palin and Cruz from overtaking it.

What's that?

Ron Paul refused to endorse Romney and wasn't even allowed at the convention. And how was he supposed to "stop the disease of Palin and Cruz from overtaking it" exactly?

Bernie showed his true colors like we all knew he would... he is an establishment shill with no integrity. Nobody should be surprised

Ron refusing to endorse Romney had more to do with him not ruining his brand. It was a foregone conclusion Rand was already going to run in 2016 or 2020. Rand was the natural successor to his dad's movement. If Ron had endorsed Romney he would have severely hurt his sons chances this year. His son couldn't play the outsider card if his dad endorsed the establishment. It didn't matter anyways because of Trump movement but at the time Ron was nor going to hurt his son's chances to win. It like Rubio being pro-immigration reform. He wanted to be ahead of the curve for 2016. He had no idea the Trump movement would set that curve back 4 years for the GOP

Bernie sucked up his pride because he has no real successor. And you can bet he'd rather his legacy not be helping Donald Trump get elected President.

It's like Bush signing TARP. He was not going to go down in history as the President that allowed the 2nd Great Depression to come through.

I'm always amazed at how much Ron Paul suppotters aren't aware of how he plays the game just as much as anyone else. Like adding earmarks to his district and voting no because the bill is gonna pass and he can say he voted no.

Also makes me laugh that sturg is having his "I told you so moment" about Bernie. You hated Bernie's guts from the beginning and everything he stands for. It's not like him endorsing or not endorsing Hillary was going to change your mind about him.

I don't think you know what you're talking about... Rand Paul endorsed Romney for President

Show me the evidence of "the back room deal"

The reality is he was going after different voters... so he attacked Rick Perry, Cain, and Santorum because they were the tea party candidates...

And I don't think you know what you're talking about re: earmarks. It is the congress' duty to appropriate the funds - which is exactly what he did. He then voted against the spending because he disagreed with it.

Bernie spent months telling us that Hilary is the establishment backed by wall street and can't be trusted as President... then he sold out and told his sheep supporters to fall in line. and they will. Because they're idiots.

I got a little tired of hearing how Bernie has integrity and his honest and blah blah

When push comes to shove... he's a sellout.

Unless I'm mistaken, Bernie Sanders was elected and identifies as an "independent." He doesn't nor should he owe the Democratic Party anything. Of course, he's going to be "happier" if Clinton is elected over Trump, but a significant cornerstone of his campaign and repeated line among his most ardent supporters was how this was going to be a political revolution and how big-money Hillary really isn't all that much different from the Republicans. I don't see any point really in him endorsing the consummate "status quo" politician. Getting a few of his major pet issues in the party platform is useless if the candidate doesn't aggressively advance them. Some of his supporters will vote for Clinton. Some will write his name in anyway. A lot will probably stay home. Some will back Jill Stein, and a handful may even get behind Gary Johnson.

Maybe Bernie gets named Secretary of Labor under President Hillary?

Damn, man, that's a truly epic level of denial.

Because they're idiots.

Irrespective of ideology, I don't think we should just go around assuming those who disagree with us are idiots—especially if one's rationale is the pat tautology that "they're idiots because they disagree with me."

I'm betting the vast majority will vote for Clinton, but as for myself—a person who voted for Sanders in my state's Presidential Preference Election—I'm tentatively planning to vote for Jill Stein.

Or he understands politics works from the ground up.
Without legislative representatives to vote his "major pet issues" they aren't worth the paper they are written on

That is where the revolution takes place, not in the bubble of POTUS

Early on Sanders said he would back the ticket.
Don't know why or how his followers missed that

I think the majority of them are idiots not because they disagree with me... but because they disagree with math.

Fifty years ago, a senator from Vermont gave Lyndon B. Johnson the best advice that LBJ ever ignored. The country was just then getting waist deep in the Mekong and the gentleman from Vermont had a suggestion. "Just declare victory," Senator George Aiken told the president, "and then get the hell out."

If you want to know what happened on Tuesday in a high school gymnasium here, when another smart senator from Vermont endorsed the presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, keep Aiken's advice in mind. Because what Bernie Sanders did was to declare victory and then get the hell out of the race…

And it says more than a little about HRC that she allowed Sanders to take this extended victory lap in his speech prior to endorsing her formally, and that she and her campaign allowed a vigorous debate to take place over the platform. It was both personally classy and politically shrewd—especially since she had to know that the various phrenologists and seers in the campaign press corps were going to divine every blink of an eye on the podium for some hidden conflict or deeper meaning. She was also very gracious in her remarks toward his supporters, some of whom walked out in protest before she began.
