Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

Some of them are just assholes who just want to be different. And I say assholes because being different is fine but when they go crazy because someone else doesnt play along with them that makes them assholes.

The government has unlimited authority during national emergencies. So dont get your hopes up with this case. And unfortunately, or fortunately, those agencies can keep doing what this injunction says not to do because whats the Judge going to do? Hold them in contempt and throw them in jail? Nope, maybe give out some tax payer money. So theres little to no incentive for these agencies to comply. Thats not be supporting it, just telling you the reality of the situation.

So, they can censor people over a laptop and try to alter an election for Biden because there was a national emergency? That won't fly. Did you read what the judge said?

Hard to say what the appellate courts might try but the SCOTUS won't let the government get away with this.

You are probably right that the government will continue doing this for awhile but the bad PR will stop it.

Well first this order wouldnt apply to non government employees so 51 former Intel people could tell twatter Sturg is a pedophile and should be censored and it wouldnt violate this order. The courts have always voted in favor of giving the government virtually unlimited power in times of national emergency or on national security issues. The SCOTUS isnt going to vote how you think on this. Keep in mind courts have upheld that the government can "civil forfeiture" your stuff based on the flimsiest suspicion that you use, sell, or traffic drugs and that you are liable for the legal burden of proving you didnt aquire your stuff from doing something illegal. These are the same courts that say border patrol can use roadblocks 100 miles in land from any border or ocean to look for illegal immigrants(which is just a rouse to look for drugs).

It's been a tough couple weeks for the tyrants

Unfortunately there are no consequences for being a tyrant in this country

Remember the people on here that said this is perfectly fine?

Best part of this is in the judge's opinion:

"the federal government “seems to have assumed a role similar to an Orwellian 'Ministry of Truth.’”

Awwwww they got their feeewings hurt again. The bad man made a conservative song!!

And they will likely win the appeal. And the Trump admin would appeal this order to. Keep in mind this is an injunction and not a court case on the issue that ruled against the government.

According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation they believe that the injunction does not distinguish between unconstitutional and constitutional interactions or provide guideposts for distinguishing between them in the future. This might cause it to get overturned.

However, the plaintiffs look like they're eventually going to win the case so it doesn't matter in the long run.

It has to be guidelines because simply saying stop unconstitutional things when the defense is saying what they are doing is constitutional would make the injunction a joke.
