Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

A woman named Amy of the Twitter account “Right Hook USA” tweeted Tuesday, “Parker Mankey is doxxing an old man on Facebook because he wore a MAGA hat in public.” Amy called Mankey’s husband’s boss “to show them the violence their employees’ wife is promoting.”

Woman complains about someone Doxxing someone via Facebook, then doxes someone via facebook and twitter.

**** it's like we live in a Monty Python sketch.

I feel more and more like Professor Farnsworth everyday.

"Graduate School of Education Dean Bridget Terry Long and I were slated to have a conversation about the role of higher education in expanding economic opportunity. Before we could begin, individuals came forward to sit on the stage, blocking the view of their fellow audience members with signs and chanting loudly over the program. They were invited, first by Kennedy School Dean Douglas W. Elmendorf and then by me, to continue their protest in a way that would not prevent others from participating. They refused to move, and they continued shouting. As a result, members of our community were deprived of the opportunity to engage fully in the work of listening to and learning from one another. The gathering had to be moved to another room that could accommodate only a fraction of the original audience in order for the program to continue.

What I saw last week was not a group of students looking to engage in conversation about things that matter to them. It was, instead, an effort to obstruct the rights of others to speak and to listen. A university committed to truth cannot function if some members of our community shout down others. Our University-Wide Statement on Rights and Responsibilities makes clear the right to protest and dissent, but it makes equally clear that this right may not be exercised in a way that interferes with values that are essential to the nature of our enterprise, among them the freedom to exchange ideas.

The heckler’s veto has no place at Harvard. When we shut down conversation, when we shut down debate, we shut down the opportunity to learn through reasoned discourse. It would be a shame if the state of our national public discourse, which has become so coarse, becomes the state of our campus discourse as well."

At least someone gets it...

Lefties now saying Omars safety being threatened due to conservatives having the audacity to quote her exact words is... On brand.

Facts are now racist and dangerous, of course.

The lefts attack on speech won't stop.

Those who dont submit to groupthink need to self-censor in order to remain likeable in society

Facebook now banning "far right" people.

That is their right of course, but is terribly harmful in a society that values free speech.

This is where it starts, of course.

Went a step too far banning PJW. I think they could have gotten away banning the others.

They shouldn’t ban anyone unless They actively call for, participate and engage in violence against people.
