You're making a case I'm not making. Where I've not been a freespeech absolutionist is I believe Twitter, Facebook, etc. can control what's being said on their platform. Which you don't believe in .

I don't believe the Government can control hate speech.

I do believe they can work other laws where hate speech can be used as aggravating circumstances in criminal trials. For example someone says "eff you hard R" and kill someone, that's certainly makes for an easier slam dunk for 1st degree murder.

I believe that Facebook and Twitter can whatever they want.

I believe them censoring to the effect that they have is not an attempt at cultivating a society of free speech

If a white person called a black person the N word and then the black person attacked the white person, do you think the black person should be charged with a crime or did the white person deserve it?

See you're confusing 2 things. Legality and Morality. Yes he deserves to get attacked and yes the black person should be charged. THat being said, other factors come in like was he squaring up to the dude was this after a fight did he say it and swing. But it certainly would be a mitigating circumstance and would lead to a lower charged crime or sentence for any common sense DA.

No i’m not confused. You say you believe in free speech , which you don’t if you believe people deserved to be attacked for hateful speech (which you just admitted). You don’t get to put your hands on people if they say rude things to you, no matter how ugly they are.

If you call my girlfriend a whore I'll level your ass. And you'll deserve it. I can get charged with a crime because your hate speech is protected, but that doesn't mean that I have to tolerate it.
 
Is it true that the Trump Administration demanded that Twitter take down tweets deemed offensive to the former president. I find this to be shocking. A shocking actual for real attack on freedom of speech.

Funny how so many of the actual for real attacks on our first amendment rights escape the attention of those who style themselves as stalworth defenders of those rights. I wonde(R) why.

Cool. Now show me the proof by way of Tweets or other physical proof where they were asked to be taken down. I can actually show you proof where the FBI was trying to help the democrats on Twitter as much as they could.

Even if is true this it still isn't even close to being equivalent to what the FBI/Biden's people were doing on Facebook and Twitter.

someone testified under oath about this at a congressional hearing earlier this week

but i guess like some around here that's not good enough for you...for some (R)eason
