Or we could just let them attack us and sit back and watch them commit atrocities against innocent and helpless people?
Krg, these are inherently peaceful people who are only killing people at will because we agitate them.

No seriously. It makes more sense to kill them and expect them not to retaliate.
Wanna show me the math? How many muslims have Americans killed? Now show me how many Americans Muslims have killed?
I'll wait.
I know. I just watched a show on The History Channel called How to beat Evil. It was pretty cool. They interviewed the Guy from Poland who told Hitler to stop and Hitler did. Then they interviewed some guy from China who persuaded the Emperor of Japan to leave China and go back to Japan during ww2. Pretty good show.
Next week they are discussing John Adams and taking about how he asked the King for our freedom and then the king granted it. Amazing show. Shows all the instances throughout history where evil people are asked to 'stop' and they all comply.
If we are the bad guys, why do all the groups hate each other?
How many Japs did we kill before Pearl Harbor?
The japs must had retaliated for something right?

Actually they did. WE stopped selling them oil. ANd you're comparing an imperialistic nation to small fraction of a religion that the biggest threat that's out there, hasn't occupied a whole country.

Still waiting...
Just because we're better at killing them than they are at killing us doesn't make us the bad guys. I thought that the whole point to a conflict was to win it.
No no no... we're never hurt any of them. Nothing they have ever done is retaliatory. We are the peace keepers.
So I'll still wait for those death totals. I'm also interested in hearing who started the conflicts.
What did we do to cause the USS Cole to be bombed? Why did bin Laden call us a "paper tiger"? What did those innocent journalists do that deserved a beheading? You're dealing with people who are culturally stuck in the Middles Ages. Look, I'm not saying we're perfect. There isn't one nation on earth that is. However, creating some kind of moral equivalency between us and ISIS is absurd.
Sturg is not trying to create a moral equivalency. Deep down he believes we are worse.
Unfortunately, I think you're right. He probably thinks we deserved 9/11 or that Bush orchestrated it.
There is not a doubt in my mind. But he isn't alone. Sadly there are many on this board who probably feel the same way.
Lets just ignore the fact that these barbarians cut off the clitorises of their women and behead innocent peace aid workers. WE are the bad guys.

Don't forget about thier impeccable treatment of women and little girls. Not giving women rights and not having a problem when grown men rape 6 year old kids are the kind of people I stick up for.
Yep. I always thank the heavens that the modern thought process wasn't around during WWII. We wouldn't have stood a chance in hell against the Axis Powers if it was.
