What crime exactly? Just saying someone is a criminal on Saudi Arabia doesn't mean much when the charge could be not wearing sandals or letting his wife drive or refusing to sell his teenage daughter to a Saudi Prince for 2 goats.

Until the right grapples with the fact that a not-insignificant amount of right-wing media for the past 8 years has been to baselessly defend basically any thought that crosses Donald Trump’s mind, they won’t accept that their news is just as bad as the news they’re deriding as fake. Many of the most popular voices in right-wing media are currently tripping over themselves to justify territorial expansion into Panama, Greenland and Canada. And when this inevitably doesn’t happen they’ll just claim they were trolling. But the audience of that “trolling” content is just rolling with the strategic advantages of buying a place we can’t buy or invading Panama to stop China.

Regardless of what you think about Fox News or daily wire, do you think the mainstream media in general deserves our respect and trust?

No. Our respect and trust must be earned and kept, and the sensationalist nature of news organizations seeking to maximize profits by being first or focusing on news their *audience* wants is basically never going to do that for me. But there’s a difference between being different than the MSM and being better than it. The billionaires funding these new outlets also just want a return on their profit and have correctly deduced you don’t need to report the news beyond waiting for Trump to say or do something and cheerlead whatever that is to find viewers.
