Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

I'm much more interested in what actually happened

Yeah, I would really like to be able to sort out an objective set of facts here. As things stand, it's really hard to have confidence in the org leadership.

Haven't been following but has Jeff Wren said anything this year about this FO? I remember him tweeting for a bit when Frank was fired. Haven't followed since.

Your loss. He's so dramatic. No sports team in history has had this much inside knowledge of the dysfunction surrounding the team, yet all of it is ignored, so Jeff has free reign to keep tweeting.

He unloaded on Coppolella a few weeks ago in a 'tweetstorm' (also hate that one) where he attempted to defend some of his brother's more controversial moves. Said JC was disliked around the game, incompetent, etc. He also said that Kiley McDaniel was JC's lightweight drinking buttbuddy (I paraphrase).

Nobody posts it here. This is the only place I go to for Braves news.

With our farm, the Braves GM job should be one of the more desired GM jobs out there in baseball. We should be able to get many qualified applicants who are vying for the job.

Unfortunately, we are going to go back to the Braves' Way and stone-aged baseball and hire Dayton Moore. It'll be the worst kept secret in baseball outside of Fredi Gonzalez following Bobby Cox.

Oh, and Snitker is likely going to be safe due to all of this. Joy.

I doubt this is over Kevin maitans deal, 'handshake deals' aren't uncommon in Latin America and the Braves are certainly not the only deal that agrees with prospects before the J2 deadline. While frowned upon, I can't imagine they'd hammer the braves on that and ignore all the other cases of it happening across MLB.

It's strange that they were reportedly looking into our 'domestic picks' as well. Did we somehow manipulate draft boards or sneak money to players to help sign?

Maybe I'm way off here, but my biggest concern is what prospects we'll lose because of this. If the Red Sox had to give up two prospects and no one was fired (at least that I recall), how bad is this situation if the GM and Blakely both resigned?

You keep trying to change the topic of this thread from Coppy's resignation and what it might mean for the Braves to "I was right and you are all idiots."

How about we focus on what this means to the Braves instead of how brilliant Enscheff is.

He thinks that somebody influential will read the posts here, be impressed, and offer him a good job in baseball.

I was assured by many experts on these boards that the FO was great and everything was fine.

I wouldn't worry about this at all...the geniuses on these boards knew what they were talking about.

I remember all the times you told us that Coppy was going to get fired for manipulating international and amateur draft signings and I feel mighty foolish.

Wow, I'd just listened to Coppy's interview with Olney from the end of last week talking about the future and re-read his interview with Bradley, watched his interview with Fox Braves Cast....seems like that was time wasted if they had just given a heads up they were firing him 48 hours later.

Pull your head out of the sand fool.

Coppy was thrown under the bus because of the rifts in the FO. There was no attempt to circle the wagons. There is zero chance Hart and JS didn't know about what was going on. Now Coppy is being slammed minutes after resigning.

It is blatantly obvious.

Or keep your head buried in willful ignorance. Seems to be your way.

DOB says the Braves don't expect this to impact the players they signed ... but I'm not really sure how the front office could know either way at this point.
