Bear in mind, the war was on and violence was in the air.

Black soldiers returning from Viet Nam, that were denied service at restaurants, made to drink at separate water fountains and denigrated to 2nd class citizenry had little patience with lunch counter sit ins,speeches and peaceful marches.

I have seen that before but thats what if he just randomly reappeared one day as opposed to being alive and publicly active. I think the right would use his socialist beliefs to marginalize him. They would hate him with a passion if he was alive today.

Remember, not a single democrat voted for the tax bill... and my oh my have the democrats have gone silent in the tax bill thread. Weird because Nancy Pelosi said it was Armageddon and the death of America. Surely America will be dead any minute now despire all the companies raising minimum wages, bonuses being paid out, and gdp surpassing 3%

during the last stages of the Viet Nam War confronted with resistance and pending impeachment for collusion with foreign entities, Richard Nixon instituted the America Love It or Leave it meme. To be used any time, by sycophants or other people that stayed willfully uninformed, any one questioned the policies of his administration or even the morality of the war.
Meaning if you didn't agree with the administration you should go to N Viet Nam

I’m not saying “love it or leave it.” I’m thinking about it from my own perspective. If I thought there was a place (domestically or internationally) where my situation would be thoroughly improved, that was more in line with my values, I’d certainly go there. Especially if I thought I was currently in a ****hole, like you do.
