Michael Harris is the "left handed Acuna" per Chipper

It's really happening.

We legitimately have another superstar, folks.

Man...I’ll believe it when I see it. Dude doesn’t have an AB above A ball and hasn’t played a meaningful game in over a year (was he in AFL?). That tells me we need to pump the brakes a little.

Plus, having a generational talent is rare. Having two come up so close together is super rare. The Braves have had that with Chipper and Andruw in the 90’s. Having 3 is unheard of.*

*Note: I’m considering Albies a generational talent based on what he’s done at such a young age, though he may not quite fit the mold.

Acuna did High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A in 2017 and we could conceivably see the same thing with Harris this year. The Braves haven't been shy about pushing guys up fast and Harris did spend all of 2020 at the alternate site, so he's certainly a candidate for aggressive promotion.

Wow really don’t know much about how things went at the alternate site last year. I hope he’s that good. I really didn’t expect a prospect to come out of seemingly no where this Spring.

To be fair, it doesn’t matter how rare it is. I agree strongly with pumping the brakes on the superstar talk, though. He has neither the pedigree nor track record to justify these lofty comparisons, but I’m rooting for him and think he’s a future top 100 guy for sure.

I'm not pumping the brakes on anything. I'm gonna dream on Harris being a lefty Acuna. Dreaming is fun, and I'm always ready to be sold a dream until there's actual evidence to prove different

Didn't Henry Aaron once gush about a prospect named Brad Komminsk? As a result, I've been tapping the brakes on superstar endorsements of minor league players for the past 35 years.

That’s why you double your weekly McDonald’s intake when the Monopoly promotion arrives.

Was there information released about observations/performances for Harris last year during whatever organized baseball was played for the minor leaguers?

Anderson over Lewis was the right pick. Wright over Adell looks bad in hindsight but we'll see.

Hopefully Michael Harris ends up being special, what happens with Waters if you have Pache, Acuna and Harris? But i guess that's a good problem to have.

You trade Acuna since he'll be the most expensive guy. Isn't that obvious???

Don't think so - our camp was likely comparable to AA if I had to guess.

Not many camps gave hitters the opportunity to face guys like Wright/Wilson/Newk/Touki/Muller EVERY DAY. I realize those guys haven't gotten it to translate at the MLB level yet, but it's probably fair to say that there wasn't any other camp with anything close to that number of arms with the level of experience and stuff that group has. That's before adding Ynoa, Weigel, Davidson, De La Cruz to that mix.

That's an awfully advanced level of pitching to see on a regular basis - especially for guys like Harris and Grissom.

If the Braves have statcast data that suggests he is a similar talent to Acuna, then we should be jumping for joy.

If it’s a kid with a few hits in ST, it’s meaningless. Narratives coming out of alternate sites is also pretty meaningless.

Can’t wait to follow him.

I'll be seeing him at every level too. Can't wait.
