Michael Harris is the "left handed Acuna" per Chipper

To be fair, it doesn’t matter how rare it is. I agree strongly with pumping the brakes on the superstar talk, though. He has neither the pedigree nor track record to justify these lofty comparisons, but I’m rooting for him and think he’s a future top 100 guy for sure.

I don't know if anyone ever has the pedigree to be compared with legends when they haven't proven anything... like you said, he doesn't have the track record yet (not really his fault, he hasn't really had the chance with COVID). However, his pedigree was pretty damn strong. If I recall, there was some surprise that he signed with a team as he was always thought to have huge raw talent. It was a general consensus that him signing for slot value was a big victory if I remember right. There was a bunch of "ceiling" hype on him when he was drafted.

Wasn't that long ago we had an outfield of Justin Upton, BJ Upton and Jason Heyward. Didn't win much, but the woke quotient was off the charts.

What's impressive to me is how quickly Harris has made everyone forget about Drew Waters.

Here are Waters' K percentages, which is the big knock on him:

Age 18: 31%
Age 19: 21%
Age 20: 28.6%

In Harris' debut season at 18, he struck out only 19.8%.

I know- one stat. One piece of the prospect puzzle. But gives you an idea.

Not having an age 19 season really sucks, so for now we are going to have to trust Chipper, Grissom, and Snitker.

Chipper called Acuna a top 5 player in the sport before his rookie year.

Grissom really dropped the names Bonds and Sheffield. I mean . . .

Is there a 5 (and growing) page thread on him?

I can almost promise you there are about 50 pages on if we should or should not trade him for X player. This is one of your dumber takes man.

There are probably another 50 pages on his performances in the minors too. Just like there will be a lot about Harris as he plays more milb games.

Dumber than AA drafting on race?

Not sure...have you posted 25 times in a thread about him?

A long thread isn't exactly a long thread if one person has over half the posts in it - kinda talking to yourself and having a few different people stopping by to mention you might want to pump the brakes from time to time.

The masterful Enscheff has already explained why Waters is more than likely a 4th OF.

The hype is gone.

Just read Twitter. No need to be a homer about every prospect.

Acuna did High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A in 2017 and we could conceivably see the same thing with Harris this year. The Braves haven't been shy about pushing guys up fast and Harris did spend all of 2020 at the alternate site, so he's certainly a candidate for aggressive promotion.

IF they are in a situation where Harris could be pushed like that, it would be interesting to see if they did.

Hopefully AA is paying attention to Twitter when figuring out who is real and who isn't

If everybody on the board starts tweeting now, I wonder what our chances of having Gattis as the DH with Ozuna staying in LF in 2022 are?

Twitter...the same twitter that hyped him up over a .400+ BABIP?

Most people here are not homers about him. He's a 55FV prospect. Good but not great. He could be a starting OF, 4th OF, or not be a big leaguer at all. Wide range of possibilities for a prospect of his level.
