Minor League Thread Part Deux

If Perdomo is real …I mean big time….. How huge would that be!
It would be huge. Allows us to spend in other places. Perdomo is super young but middle of next year we should really know what we have with a lot of these young international guys.

Who wants to tell me about Rayven Antonio at Augusta?

Colombian 19 year old right handed starter.... went 6.0 ip, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K's

Has had a good start to the year with a 1.98 ERA over 6 starts... a few solid starts at Augusta to end last year also.

Lol..I will...there is video of his 9 K'S, but there are a few things noted for him. First his FB sits comfortably at 94. Sure he can get it higher but there's enough effort on the 94 and as of yet, it's enough for lower level hitters. His slider is the swing and miss pitch IMHO. He is thick in the lower legs, but I don't think he drives off of it enough. He could probably generate another 2-4 mph if he drops and drives better. Just an opinion. He's good but I loved Fuentes a whole lot more than Antonio at the same stage and just as young. Antonio has a good body to work with and he is about 6"1/2. I think he can pitch deep the stronger he gets.

If he can work his secondaries enough to be at least average, he's got a good chance to be a starter. He's a 2 pitch pitcher to me thus far. I'm reserving that until he gets stronger but he's peaked my interest just enough to like him.
