Minor League Thread Part Deux

DSL Braves really wasted a couple of solid pitching performances today from RHPs Raudy Reyes and Marcos Pol. Reyes went 4, giving up one hit, walking two and striking out 6. Pol followed up by giving up 1 hit and 1 walk (along with one hit-batsman) and 5 strikeouts in 3 IP. Braves blew three-run leads in both the bottom of the 9th and 10th to lose 8-7 in 10.

SS Angel Carmona who was one of the Braves' most prominent signees last January has been playing every day after not playing earlier in the season (must have been an injury). Not hitting for much of an average (.205), but four of his eight hits have gone for extra bases and he's walked six times in 46 PAs while striking out 10 times.

Between Martinez, Cesa, Espinal, and Tornes, we seem to have had more hitters performing well in the DSL than any other season in recent history.

Douglas Glod remains hot in Augusta. In 112 PAs since June 6, he's hitting .284/.393/.463 and an .856 OPS. The K's are still a problem, but he is worth keeping an eye on.

Eric Hartman is also red hot, hitting .295/.392/.500 (.892 OPS) over his last 52 PAs. I honestly thought he deserved a promotion over Drake. I'm really starting to this kid is legit. He's hitting better than most prep drafted players from the 2024 class, and he's younger than most, having just turned 19 on June 16.

Oh heck yeah.
