Minor league thread

Folks are just desperate for any help in the OF, and when the system is bad fans tend to overrate the guys who are left. Remember when everyone thought Peraza was a real prospect just because he was the best in a poor system?

The Braves have 1 legit position prospect, and that’s it.

Can probably add three borderline guys to that one, but one "legitimate" is probably right.

Shewmake is probably a solid utility IF candidate, Grissom may very well be the same, and Mezquita is certainly intriguing - yet a long way away.

The Braves will have to rely on the FA market to fill holes for a few years and let the farm restock it self.

I’m a bit disappointed at how Grissom has started. He’s been solid but I really thought he was gonna come out on fire. It’s still early

The guy with the 400 on base who never strikes out?

Are you worried about the power?

Yeah like I said he’s been solid… but I thought he would be showing more power right now. He doesn’t have very many XBHs… I’m not down on him and still love his potential. Just thought he would be one to come out tearing the cover off the ball so I had pretty lofty expectations

I'd like to see him in AA, but SS is kind of full right now at AA. 2B looks like it should be open however.

I’d like to know if he can play ss. I thought out of draft most thought he’d have to be 2b or 3b.

Don’t have the exit velocities.

But he walks more than he ks. On base all the time. If he can play ss he doesn’t have to have a lot of power. If not he’ll need more. But he’s still very young. Just not sure if he has the lift in his swing

Big night I love to see from Grissom 3-4 with a homer. Malloy is looking solid early on. GA Tech third baseman we drafted last year that looked really interesting.

Big night for the big names on the farm… Tarnok was real good, Vodnik had a good frame, Shew, Grissom, Waters and Harris all with good games - especially Harris with another hit and two walks plus an RBI fly ball

I’d give Harris a couple of more weeks and send him to AAA and bring Waters up to see what he can do

How insane is the year Tromp is having at AAA? He's been in the minors since 2013 and is 27. The most homeruns he's ever had in one full season is 9... he's already at 8 this year in 75 plate appearances.

They cooking the balls the other way in AAA I guess

Kyle Muller (Gwinnett) and his brother Chris (Durham) pitched against each other tonight. Kyle lost but had 12 Ks in 6 innings.
