Movie Thread

Watched Watchmen Chapter I, holy ****, it makes me mad how bad Zack Snyder butchered the core themes and plot. He made a pretty looking film, but it spat in the face of the themes and intent of the story. And it just plain sucked. The animated film though is amazing. Looking forward to part 2.

Maybe it’s just me but how can you as an adult, watch a cartoon movie? I’ve never understood how people can do this.

Comics and cartoons aren't just for kids. No kid could read Watchmen and understand it.

Some of the best shows and media of the last few decades have been animation.

Arcane, Bob's Burgers, South Park, Rick and Morty, Legend of Vox Machina, Invincible, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Into the Spiderverse, Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, etc.

It's also worth noting, that almost every single movie now has significant animation with the prevalence of CGI. Transformer movies are basically 90% animation.

Saw gladiator 2. It's a perfectly decent movie. Nothing wrong about it just not as amazing as it was hyped. I found the sub plot of the emperors to be silly in the end. Like it really didn't serve the core story. And considering I didn't like one of the portrayals. Felt like it could have been simplified and handled differently giving more screen time to the main actors.

I wouldn't consider top tier animated movies cartoons. That's Saturday morning or after school stuff from days past.

As zeets said. Cgi and animation are very close to the same thing these days.

Still nobody on transformers one?

If anyone’s a fan in general I highly recommend.

The animation in the trailers kind of threw me off from it to be honest. But I have heard good things about it so I'll probablly check it out soon. Always been a TF fan.

Carry-On, on Netflix, is pretty solid for an action movie. Definitely a Die Hard type of feel to it, but without the explosions.

Moana 2 was about what you would expect. Not anywhere as good as the original, and it added more characters that didn't really add anything to the story except for comic relief.

Watched the Wild Robot was in was out in theaters and I really liked it. My favorite animated movie of the year by far.

You’d assume. I also read an article earlier today stating that it took the authorities over a day to identify the bodies. That doesn’t add up. And didn’t some of the dogs survive while others didn’t?
