Figured they would shut KD down.

Hopefully they lose out and get into the lottery.

I hope everyone is appreciating what Westbrook is doing this year. All the talk of him not being a good or willing passer better never come up again.

Wouldnt give him max money but i'd give him a very fair offer.

Next years team if they retain Kanter could be scary good if they keep him if KD is recovered.

If the Thunder find a way to make the playoffs and even potentially getting into the 7th spot then I think a great case could be made for RW to win the MVP.

Having big men that can actually put the ball in the basket off the PnR has completely opened up his game. We are seeing what Perkins has done to RW's numbers over the years. Teams respect Kanter and Adams to a lesser extent.

Plus having the second best three point shooter in the league on the wings helps. Thunder would rip through the league if they had #35 out there.

I could deal hvaing Kanter for the next 5 years. 4 years 48 million.

He's played really well. He was awesome today.

The counterpoint, of course, is that they have no room to add another max level type player in 2016 if that's needed to keep Durant.

Cap is about to skyrocket. Potentially 48 million is doable. Problem is what they are going to do with Adams because he is close to getting paid as well.

They dont need 3 max players.

Russ, KD, Ibaka, Kanter with Adams, Mitch, Morrow, DJ, others is a pretty nice squad.

Sure that might work, but you are committing that slot that could be crucial in keeping Durant on a guy who has about a month's worth of games of playing well who really hurts your defensive efficiency. (Kanter is passing a better now, but the defense problems have not changed.)

It's an opportunity cost. I don't know what the right move is, but it's definitely not a slam dunk either way.

That could be doable, but you won't have the space to add anyone above the mid level exception even after accounting for the cap increases.

And if the Thinder don't win again next year, Dursnt might look at the situation and have reservations because you don't have assets to trade nor cap room to add improvements.

That's the risk.

I don't see any situation in basketball that could afford Durant that would be better than the Thunder. Ibaka isn't even playing right now. McGary could probably start for a few teams in the league and he can't get any run when everyone is healthy. Westbrook is basically either the 3rd or 4th best player in basketball depending on how you view Anthony Davis impact. THunder are loaded and are abou to make the playoffs in a loaded western conference.
