Why would you evaulate a team with KD as opposed to a team without KD?

The Thunder without KD are better than both the Knicks/Wiz without KD. If you put KD on either of those three teams than the Thunder are still better.

I'm not sure the Thunder sans Durant are better than the Wiz. But regardless, if you the Wiz are a great fit for KD. He can play with a guy that looks to others to get shots, but can score when he needs too. They have the spot up shooter in Beal that can space the floor. They have several big bodies to prevent Durant from play the 4 unless matchup wise it make sense. And of course, plenty of vet FAs would want to join the big 3.

Maybe I miss read....are you saying the Thunder without KD are better than the Wiz with KD?

No, the Wiz would be better because KD is a generational great.

I love how you still don't think RW tries to look for guys. I guess you haven't been paying attention.

Are you saying OKC without KD is better than the Wiz or Knicks with KD? Or are you saying of the 3, the best team with KD on each, would be OKC?

Either way, I disagree with both.

No, take KD away from all teams and OKC is still the best. Put KD on all three teams and OKC is the best.

In what way are the Wiz better than OKC without KD? If you look at some of hte losses OKC has had the past month and a half they have been nailbiters at the last minutes (aside from the Clippers game where they got stomped).

I think the Wiz with KD are better than OKC with KD, I just think it's a better fit...I've explained why.

Fair enough. We haven't seen it so its purely speculation. I just disagree. We also haven't seen KD with this new version of OKC's team either which should be considered.

But the two teams without KD and I think the Thunder are better.

Well the Knicks are pure trash, so that goes without saying till you see what they do with the draft and free agency. As for what the Thunder will look like with KD, unfortunately I don't see KD coming back this year so we probably won't find out, unless OKC is dumb enough to max Kanter. Once KD and Ibaka are back Kanter will go to the 4th option and it remains to be seen how happy he will be with that role, right now it's all good because he's the #2. As Utah and CC will tell you, Kanter is a bit of a baby and egomaniac. Kanter is perfect for the Hornets or a team like that, I just don't see Kanter and all his flaws on D working with OKC.

I'm still holding out hope that Kanter signs for 4 for 48 or 52. WIth the risking cap I think that would accurately reflect his value as one of the best offensive low post bigs in the league. I think RW is showing now and KD will show that deferring to someone else to take the offensive load off of them is something they've wanted since Harden was traded. Also, Serge dissapears on offense anyway so I don't think that will matter much.

Its all going to be lovey dovey now but everything you hear from Kanter is how much happier he is in OKC so lets see if that means naything when its time to sign a contract.

Westbrook has averaged 11 assists per game in the last 15 games.

Its funny how you and others disrespect his passing.

He still has his hero Russ games but he sets up his teammates quite a bit.

How is Wall, Beal, Porter, two 30+ year old bigs, and vet min players a better fit than Russ, Morrow, Adams, Kanter if they retain him, and Ibaka with lots of good role players/depth.

Wall hasn't proven he can carry a team offensively.

Wall wouldn't carry the O, Kevin Durant would........

When did I mention Westbrook?

Wall obviously wouldn't need to carry the offense, you knucklehead.

I always think you want to have two guys that can carry an offense that are primary ball handlers. Its the perfect balance. The best part about KD is that he is as good off the ball as he is on the ball. Thats what makes him such a brilliant player and thats why I think RW could still be doing what he is doing now (with less shots) with KD on the floor.

But obviously the team that gets durant becomes an instant title contender...yes even the lowly Knicks.

Would you be disappointed if Kanter walked and signed for 4/52 million somewhere else? I can't imagine that being a good value contract for the 5th or 6th best player on your team.

Wall/Beal/Durant.

I just think is a great fit for OKC's offense. All they want to do is let KD/RW display their brilliance and for that you need a big who can play the PnR. Kanter is really a great fit for the team despite his awful defense but then you have Ibaka waiting in the wings.

I just don't know what they will do because Adams HAS to be part of the future. Can you pay big money to 5 guys? I'm not sure. Part of me is hoping that KD and RW realize that winning titles will end up being more valueable to them for their brand long term than getting hte most money possible. If KD/RW take a few million less per year they are basically insuring a juggernaut moving forward. Its a pipedream but one I can dream of.
