They get a top 4 seed, BUT, it goes by records in the playoffs.

Portland will open on the road vs whoever in the playoffs.

A win is a win but good lord, to think it was a close game and Portland was missing Afflalo, Matthews, Dame, LMA, Batum and McCollum is sad and pathetic.

So either Melo/Monroe/Mudiay or Melo/Monroe/Towns would be a pretty damn good build block for the Knicks.

If they somehow get Towns, he can be defensive stopper/3rd or 4th option on offense, which would work out perfectly.

I've been thinking a lot about this.......I'm kind of leaning towards wanting to go with Mudiay and bring in Monroe +. There's not many PG's in FA, assuming Dragic is going back to Miami. There's a decent amount of bigs in FA, so even if it means losing out on Okafor or Towns, I'm leaning towards Mudiay.

Russell is an option too. As long as they are top 4, they are going to get a legit guy and have a solid 3 man anchor.

Do you guys remember this debate about Harden? Thethe, it would be great to hear your thoughts.

Via Zach Lowe:

Spare me the dreck about Harden’s free throws, by the way. He’s averaging 9.9 free throw attempts per 36 minutes — about the same as Kevin Durant averaged in multiple seasons, and fewer than Russell Westbrook averages now. There was no comparable outrage about the Thunder’s charity stripe parades, not even when Durant was duping fools with his rip move — a more transparent manipulation of the rules than anything Harden does.

I've said numerous times that I think that the rip move should not be a foul. If the offensive player is initiating the contact then it should be play on.

Monroe is weird because he needs to be put next to a defensive center that can space the floor. Not many guys that do that if any at all.

Monroe is a good 4 or 5 and very skilled. Good passer, good defender, good rebounder.

Again let's talk about relevant things in the NBA. The Knicks aren't and wont be for a long time. Nobody cares about them. Sorry Brule.

Its been reported as all but complete

edit: or you mean as in good player? Heck yeah, he's good.

I never watch him play and I haven't followed his career at all. Looking at his numbers he looks like he's a good player.

I guess I was just influenced by how awful those Pistons teams fit together the last couple of years

Are we sure Monroe is good?

16 and 10 big, who would probably put up bigger numbers away from Dre....probably 18 and 12ish? Needs to be paired with a shot blocker though. Really good passer, perfect for the triangle.

He ranks 7th in PF PER and 26th overall and will only be 25 in June. He's really good.....not perfect but he's a very good young big man.

Meh, thats a 4-5 seed in the East.

I saw Demarre Carroll say he wants to go to the Knicks or talked about them.

? Carroll, Melo, Monroe, Towns whoever is decent.

Probably aint winning a title but it will sell tickets.

Havent seen many Pistons games but Monroe is on my fantasy team and has solid games, so i guess he's good.

Melo/Monroe/top 4 draft pick should certainly be top half of the East.

So you'd put them over two of Washington, Cle, Chi, Atl, Toronto?

Miami should also rebound next year, if they keep Dragic, a SL of Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh, Wiltside is pretty nasty.
