They havent had a low post threat like him ever, yes his defense is awful, horrible but he was consistently putting up 18-20/10 every night, not too many of those players in the league.

Given they traded Reggie, and a 1st, they dont have much of a choice but to keep him, even if they maxed him.

Read up on the term "sunk cost". There you will learn why it doesn't matter what they gave up to get Enes.

Amin Elhassan on why Kanter didn't make his top 30 free agents:

@AminESPN: Kanter: I can live with good offense & bad D. I can live with great offense & awful D. I cant live with good offense & the worst D ever

@AminESPN: Kanter: someone will mess up & overpay bec shiny pts & rebs avgs, but good luck w/ guy who cant remember plays on O & blows coverages on D

That makes no sense for the 200th time. Kanter has nothing to do with KD leaving or staying....sign Kostos/Biyombo/Lopez/etc for the MLE and you're team is better than if you sign Enes.

They only have the mini-MLE taxpayer to offer, that isnt getting any big worth a damn

Draymond is way better than Kanter. This isn't even close. Draymond is a complete opposite player to Kanter.

Tristan shouldn't get the max either. He's getting the max because he's in LeBron's crew. If that helps you swallow the deal than I'm happy for you. It's still a ludicrous contract.

Again im not disagreeing but they still have no choice, he averaged 18/11 post-trade which is pretty solid and yes i know his defense sucks, spare me the news.

But not worth discussing, if it happens, just gotta live with it, cap is going up so it is what it is.

The Thubder are going to be downright dominant offensively. Maybe the best in basketball. I'll roll the dice in Kanter slightly improving defensively.

They are going to be downright dominant offensively without Kanter. Say goodbye to your max cap room after this season (unless Durant leaves) and say hello to this:

"His combined defensive RPM in Utah and OKC has been minus-3.74, which places him dead last among all bigs, and in the bottom 10 of all players this season."

OKC isnt gonna attract any FA max players so that doesnt matter.

Again, im not taking anything until i see how he does with KD, Ibaka, etc, if they do bring him back.

They will be even more difficult to defend when they have a big that can play in the pnr and score with his back to the basket.

Okc doesn't need max cap room. They have all the max type players they need.

Looks like Love is staying in Cleveland.

I'm surprised by that. Good for them.

Makes me even more sure in my belief thatthe Knicks should trade Melo for the largest draft pick haul they can get.

Even The Russian billionaire Nets owner thinks the Dan Gilbert is being reckless.

I can't believe LeBron coerced the Cavs into giving 80 million to Tristan Thompson when he's their third big. Good for LBJ. Good for the NBA's luxury tax collection pot.

Lebron gets what Lebron wants. He achieved 1 of his 2 goals in opting out. Lets see if #2 gets done.

Its also clear that NBA teams are paying contracts based on the projections for the cap that have been put out there during the conversations with the players association.

Contract inflation seems to be around 30-40% right now.

I can't believe how active today has been. NBA is crazy.
NFL is still the craziest, but some legitimate surprises so far.

I can't believe SA kept Danny Green for that low of cost and is going to sign LMA. It's hard not to consider them a favorite once again.

They are the best franchise at convincing their players to take less than market. Thunder tried real hard to emulate that with Harden(Ginobli). It didn't work. Thats why the Spurs are the best franchise in the NBA and maybe in all of professional sports.

There isn't even a close second. Pop is the best coach in my lifetime and in any sport.
