NBA Thread

All because of a cheap shot by punk, Beverely.

Season over, before it started.

Maybe bad enough for Wiggins.

FWIW, I've seen RW (and many others) try that same play. I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I honestly don't see that as a dirty play. He started his movement for the steal before the whistle blew. There was no intent to injure him, just unlucky.

Hilarious that people are complaining it was a "cheap shot" when RW has given plenty of them out.

You know what is going to be equally hilarious?

When Durant leaves OKC in 2016 and joins Wall/Beal on the Wizards. Book it.

From the area. (even has Nats tattoo). Probably be frustrated with not being able to get past Lebron. Wall/Beal/Porter/Durant.....whoever. Would be hilarious.

We will see what happens. Thunder were the best team in the league last year until RW got hurt.

Anything is possible so I wouldn't be shocked. I'd still aways root for Durant. Got is just an all round awesome person.

Stranger things have happened but just because he's from there doesn't mean he will go there.

Lot can happen between now and then.

Tom Brady grew up a Niners fan, sure he signed with them right?

Under the new CBA, teams can only have 2-3 max players.

Only 2-3 other teams can have more.

Durant and Wall. Beal and Porter on rookie deals. Durant constantly talks about wanting to come home.

You think he's going to stay in that ****ty OKC market when he can get really paid in DC?

Stay in OKC with a team that is more concerned about saving money than winning OR going home and winning? Easy choice

Saving money, they offered Harden 4/58 which would of put them in luxury tax hell for the foreseeable future.

So no.

Some of that money could go to someone like RJax or whoever.

He has a better chance to win championships in OKC than DC.

And what happens if Beal pans out and they have to pay him max money?

His deal isn't up until three years and he can get the most money from OKC.

We will cross that bridge when we get there.

He can talk about it all he wants.

So they didn't offer Harden more money because they didn't want to pay taxes....pretty sure that backs up my point.....but sure, whatever you say

I'll ask you this.

How many teams not named the Lakers, Knicks or Nets have 4 max players.

Let me know.

No, they didn't offer him the max because they would of basically had two max players in KD and Russ.

They couldn't offer him much more than 4/60.

If they could of done, 5-80, they wouldnt be able to have much more than rookies or vets around them.

A lot of teams are trying to stay out of the tax now. Its not just OKC.

Ibaka didn't sign a max contract, so it would be 3. Winning teams pay their stars.....Heat, Knicks, Nets, Lakers, Houston, Spurs, Indy, Celtics and Mavs (previous years), Bulls. You don't see any of those teams letting their stars walk over the tax....Celtics and Mavs did because they are rebuilding.

They would of been in luxury tax hell if he accepted so I'm not sure where you're going with this.

What teams have signed that many players since the new CBA? Its a whole different world now.

How many of them have 4 max guys?

Miami has three max players and they got them before the new CBA.

As I said, the new CBA makes it impossible to have more than 3 max players unless you're the Knicks, Lakers or Nets.

Heat, 3.

Knicks, 3 or 4.

Nets, 4+

Lakers, 2-3.

Houston, 2.

Spurs, TD and Parker have team friendly deals, and Kawhi is on a rookie deal for now.

Indy, 3. Indy has said before they are trying to stay out of the tax.

And Boston is included with those three when they had the Big three and Rondo.

Fact remains not many teams have more than 3 max players, new CBA makes it impossible for most teams.
