Lebron takes less shots so there would be some regression if his attempts were on par with kd.
He would also then score more points.

What are you basing this assumption off of?
You're making assumptions in the midst of facts.

That LeBron doesnt take as many shots as KD?
LeBron even said as such, article on ESPN about it, LeBron toy.
This is one of the elementary ideas of statistics.
In a broad sense, yes. In individual cases, all it is, is an assumption.
Regression to the mean is applicable in all instances. The amount of regression is the assumption.
What?
Nothing you said makes sense.
False. The mean includes those who are below, at, and above average. LeBron is above average, so you would expect him to always be above average. He's taken enough shots this year and is still at 60%. You can't compare his % to the avg of all players, because he's well-above average.

You are miss applying statistics. Based on your theory if Durant took 1 million shots, would his field goal percentage be 10%?
What is Lebrons "mean?"
No but I'd bet it would be lower than his current percentage.
That depends on how you weight past and present performance.
Thats when he stops getting better?
Sure, Jordan is probably the best player of all time but he played on great teams as well. Its a team game dominated by indviduals. If Westbrook is healthy the Thunder are winning a title this year.
In the end championships are what matter. And the truly great players find a way to win them eventually.

Tell that to Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Stockton and Malone, as well as Barkley.
Even Doc Halladay never won a championship.
Teams win championships, not individuals.
