NBA Thread

Im just glad we've stopped hearing how smart Presti is for acquiring Thabeet.

I think Presti was smart in acquiring Thabeet. For a backup center he is a good guy to have around. It cost nothing. What was the risk? He just happened to hit a homerun with Adams.

A homerun? Doesn't Adams actually have to be a good player before calling him a home run?

3 point shooters like Fisher and Lamb?

Both are 79th in the NBA is 3pt fg% at 36%. (today after they combine for 90% last night)

Yes, they are three point shooters. They aren't elite three point guys but guys that can hit open shots.

The difference between 35% and 45% is 1 more make out of every 10 attempts. If you don't think that these guys can do that if they are wide open as opposed to contested then I don't think you played much basketball in your life.

In a weak ass draft they got a guy who has the highest contested rebound rate in the league. He is one of the most athletic centers in the league and will get more playing time with experience.

Just like you thought a guy like Harden wasn't anything special early on because his playing time was low the same will be for Adams. The Thunder develop players as well as any team in the league. Look at Jacksons improvement and Lambs. Heck even Perry Jones is worlds better than he was in his first year. You will see the same out of Adams and yet again not look good when talking about these players.

I did not think Harden was nothing special. I wanted Harden to go the Wizards that year.

What I said, which you refuse to acknowledge that he was a role player for that team. 20 mins a game, 10 points per game.

I get it, the Thunder are the best ever.

The Thunders defense with Adams on the court goes downhill as well. But, then again, the offense gets worse with him on the court as well.

I don't think Adams is a good player yet. He was supposed to be raw and thats what he is but still playable.

And these numbers when a player is on and off the court is not the best measure of that individual player. Its a team game. But, you can continue to look at a statsheet and not have any other measure of evaulating a player and think you're right. Enjoy that. Every analyst/talking head that watches the Thunder all speak to how Adams is a young promising player. Now he just has to grow in Thunder U.

Do hyou think its time to start thinking the Heat might not be as good or are they just coasting? They just don't look athletic anymore.

They are coasting to an extent but Wade isnt healthy.

Also, we all know Miami gets up for the big-time games, they dont coast the entire season.

The threes completely change the dynamics of the game.

And no NBA team would hit 45% on wide open threes. Change Fisher and Lamb to hit 40% of there "wide open threes" (though not even close to all of them were open); and they hit 4.5 threes last night. Both those guys are 35% or below, I believe overall. The THunder may win it all, they have a great player in Durant. But, last night, and last night alone they made all there shots.......something they won't repeat.

Jeremy Lamb has a PER of 14.9. Adams is at 12.9. Harden is at 20.8. I think LOL, Presti is fair.

Of course they wont, but, again, as we discussed last night, most of those were wide open 3's.

And KD was getting doubled/trapped every time he touched it. KD said as such in his postgame interview.

Whats he supposed to do?

It will even out a little whenever Russ returns.

What's Miami's record vs OKC the last 3 years? Including playoffs

I know the answer but I want to hear it from you

Did you enjoy that ass whooping once Brooks realized that Perk was the problem? Miami is lucky RW wasn't healthy or else it would have been a whitewash. Reggie didn't play all that well. You put RW in that game and it might have been a 30 point victory even with spotting Miami an 18 point lead.

Holy crap. I love it.

The difference between a .200 hitter and a .300 hitter is 1 hit every 10 ABs. THERE'S HOPE FOR YOU YET DAN

The difference between a 55% and 65% comp% is 1 completion every 10 attempts. YOU'RE WICKED CLOSE TO PEYTON MANNING, KAEPERNICK AND STAFFORD. GENO SMITH YOU'LL BE MATT RYAN IN NO TIME.

The difference of one more our of 10 is often what separates great from bad or mediocre in sports percentage stats. To put it more eloquently

"Know what the difference between hitting .250 and .300 is? It's 25 hits. 25 hits in 500 at bats is 50 points, okay? There's 6 months in a season, that's about 25 weeks. That means if you get just one extra flare a week - just one - a gorp... you get a groundball, you get a groundball with eyes... you get a dying quail, just one more dying quail a week... and you're in Yankee Stadium."

You aren't following the conversation at all. I am not comparing them to another player. We are comparing percentages between when a shot is contested and when a shot is wide open. Stop trying to troll in a thread you don't know anything about.

Lol off some of these all star players. Joe Johnson! Lillard. Hibbert

Meanwhile no Boogie or Anthony Davis

HEY REMEMBER THAT TRADE I TALKED ABOUT TWO DAYS? AND YOU GUYS LAUGHED????????

Looky what I found today....

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/realistic-trade-russell-westbrook-save-york-knicks-163000701--nba.html

That trade is a random writers idea. Just the same as yours. It makes no sense. Felton is one of the most overrated players in the NBA and I'm starting to have my doubts about Shumpert. Chandlers contract is enourmous and he is an injury waiting to happen.

So again, why does it make sense to trade a top 5-10 player for that package? Oh yeah, it doesn't. Thunder were 21-4 with RW in the lineup and that is with a bogus loss against the Clippers.

Tim Hardaway Jr > Adams

Also, it's not even funny how much better of a team OKC is without RW.

21-4 with Westbrook. That is all.

The reason the Thunder smacked the Heat in their buidling is because Brooks realized that Perkins sucks against the heat....and most other teams.
