Neverending **** the Police thread.

BLM booed mayor Frey out of protest for not vowing to disband the Minneapolis PD

BLM is effectively a terrorist organization. They have no interest in solving the ills of black america.

This is the weatherman [antifa] and black panthers [BLM] all over again.

What. You don’t think the media And BLM will talk about this?

The shootings took place in neighborhoods across Chicago on May 31
Eighteen people were fatally shot in various neighborhoods and times that day
The number of deaths made it the most violent day in the city's history since 1961
Among those killed were students, fathers of young children and two brothers
That day the city's 911 center received 65,000 calls - 50,000 more than usual

I don't know about terrorist, but extremely hypocritical

In one day more black youth was shot and killed in one city than cops killed unarmed blacks in 2019.

You can't make up how stupid this 'stop killing us' argument is.

Imagine if there were no police to call... that's obviously the solution.

Lets play this game. How many people have muslim terrorists killed in the US? How many people do car wrecks kill? Smoking? Lack of health care? Etc. But we spent how many trillions of dollars and ruined the lives of many military families to prevent what, on average 100 deaths from Muslim terrorists and thats 90% from 9/11.

I have an idea though. If we are going to blame each city for the murders and crime then they get to set their own policy for laws to enforce. Dont force the ****ing war on drugs on these people then say they shouldnt care about police criminality because the prohibition of drugs causes a lot of violence. The violence in Chicago is a direct result of Republican(and Biden) policy. Either let them make the rules where they govern or stop blaming them for the results of the bad policy you force on them.

Cops already steal more than all the non-cop criminals. I can shoot the average criminal if he tries to rob me. I cant shoot a cop if he commits a crime. Much rather have no cops than criminal cops.

Without police who will make up charges to beat up an 11 year old girl. He was not charged with a crime despite fabricating charges. BURN IT ALL DOWN!

None of these changes addresses the slogan of stop killing us. Its a diversion and you're falling for it.

A conversation with Thomson about community policing is likely to involve many such catchy maxims. “Destabilized communities,” he told me, “need guardians, not warriors.” He explained the “Back to the Future Paradox”—use technology wisely, but pair it with regular-old “Bobbies on the street.” And he stressed the idea that public safety is about access to social services, economic rejuvenation, and good schools, not just cops: “Nothing stops a bullet like a job.”

Please to a modicum of research into Camden. In under 10 years they've done a heavy change in policy and it started with disbanding the police.

Please do some research. It's outstanding the work they've done. I grew up miles from Camden and never went there, and it's chilled out a whole lot since then.

If we change the incentive structure, i.e. being able to fire and charge cops for bad behavior... the problem will solve itself pretty quickly.

Gotta go against the unions to do this.

It's not just the unions. It's the existing structure.

Think of it thisway. Who do you think can enact change faster. A small single location business or a major multinational corporation?

It's much easier to push the reset button and build from the ground up rather than line by line change things.

I mean... Camden, NJ was one of the most violent cities in America. They defunded the police department 7 years ago and rebuilt it from the ground up with actual forward thinking, non-archaic ideals, and the crime rate has been cut in half. This is not about defunding the MSP police department and letting people just go off on their own. The police department will be rebuilt from the ground up, fixing the problems, using better methods and teaching with other support added to take care of non-violent offenders who won't just shoot first and ask questions later. No, law enforcement won't just be gone and if you think that, you're an idiot.

We periodically have serious race riots every 1 to 2 decades. Its almost like the band aids we've been putting on the problem for a century aren't working. So let's stop putting band aids on the problem and actually fix it. And if you don't think there's actually a problem, you're eating up a bunch of lies and you are a part of the problem.
