NL Rookie of the Year Watch

Braves can really help turn this around by shelling Horton in his next two starts while letting Baldwin play in 90% of the next 10 games whether it's DH or C.
It looks like we’ll face lefties twice in the next nine games - and both times it’ll be Imanaga from the Cubs.

Alvarado is a tough pitcher to face and Drake took him deep so any of that let Drake sit against a LHP nonsense needs to be put to rest.

Someone talked about the W/L record with Drake versus Murphy starting.

Did we actually see numbers on that or was it just conjecture?

Do the pitchers pitch better with Murphy behind the plate?

I can see the future. Waldrep has an amazing finish to the season winning ROY over Baldwin but since he wasnt a top 100 prospect we lose out on a pick.

I can confirm opposing pitchers pitch better when Murphy is our starting catcher. The free out in the middle of the lineup really helps.

Collins on the bench today for the third time in their last nine games. They just recently activated Jackson Chourio, which looks like it could eat into Collins’ playing time some.

Collins has fallen off so I'm not really worried about him. Horton is public enemy #1 now.

Baldwin has a full 1.0 fwar lead on Horton, whose ERA is about a run better than his peripherals. It’d be a travesty if Horton was awarded ROY over Baldwin, at this point; but hopefully the Braves can help with that regression to Horton’s inputs and put thing thing to bed for Baldwin.

We face him in both of his next 2 starts. If we get that ERA to around 4 it's over. But I agree that Horton winning over Baldwin at this point would be crazy.

Big game for Baldwin tonight. Collins just had a pinch hit two-run single to tie the Phillies in the eighth inning. Routine ground ball to short but Turner was playing up the middle and couldn’t field it.

Another big odds shift overnight. Baldwin is now the favorite at +100, Horton still +125. Collins has plummeted down to +400.

I'm curious as to what some people are going to be complaining about a year from now after we drop 100 million in the offseason, have a top 5 and 2 more in the top 50 picks, a top 10 farm system, and cruising to 100 wins.
The league better hope Strider doesn't get his fastball back next year. This rotation could be filthy if we could ever stay healthy. Sign a big name SP. And we have Lopez coming back. We could run a 6 man rotation with Waldrep and finally keep Sale healthy for the playoff run.

Snit? Ticket price increases?

Almost a full year of Strider dialing in his curve and a bit better fastball and its gonna be a problem for folks. I agree.

One of Cease, King, or Woodruff is a must imo. AA skipped the rotation this past offseason and got drug for it. It won't happen again this offseason bc Lopez can't be counted on and Waldrep needs more time to see if he's actually legit. I know we stay clear of Boras but I don't think we will this offseason.

Id be shocked with the arms we added\milb promotions\etc... it FEELS like a luxury to add another top arm, but if this year has taught us anything- you can never have enough arms.

There has already been reports that SP is the primary focus this off-season in FA. You simply can't rely on our guys staying healthy or that Strider/Lopez will find themselves again.
