Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

@Buster_ESPN
The Dodgers are exploring possible deal for the Mets' Addison Reed.

Grrrrr. I understand all that but pitchers like Archer are not usually available. Shouldn't we try to snag him if we can. Provided folty isn't part of the trade .. Could say we might have a half way decent rotation.. A la.. 2013.

But he isn't available

Rosenthal said if Braves trade Garcia, we'll go after a RP like Brad Brach. And the Braves are still in the Sonny Gray sweepstakes along with Mil and NYY.

Rosenthal said we like Brach because he's controllable. He has one year of control left. That would be really dumb if he costs even a decent prospect.

I'm warming to Gray if we can get him without dealing Albies/Acuna. Still don't love it, but I can live with it.

I really, really don't wanna trade Albies, acuna, maitan, allard, and soroka

Brach wouldnt be bad but RP's cost alot now, that would scare me.

Regarding Gray, if we could do something like Anderson, Wentz, Pache, and Vizcaino but i think it costs more than that.

Here's what I want... trade Garcia to get the best prospect possible (even if you have to package a Blair, etc and pay all the money). Make a trade for Sonny Gray as long as it doesn't involve Albies/Acuna/Maitan/Soroka/Wright/Gohara. Trade Teheran for the best offer you can find, preferably one of the prospects would be a decent catching prospect close to the majors for a stop gap after Flowers next year. Give away Kemp/Markakis if need be (Markakis for Hunter Dozier). Trade something cheap for Profar. Off season, see if you can make a decent trade for Archer (not likely).... but would rather sign Lynn or maybe Cobb. Prefer Lynn because of Cobb's fly ball tendencies. Trade BP for anything before the deadline. Sign Mouse or wait and break the bank for Machado. Or trade for Solarte.

Would love to see:

1B - Freeman

2B - Albies

SS - Swanson/Camargo (almost want to trade Swanson while he still has high value)

3B - Machado/Mouse/Solarte

C - Flowers, then later a close prospect, and eventually Contreras or Gutierrez

RF - Acuna

CF - Ender

LF - Not sure here, maybe a prospect from the Teheran Trade

Rotation:

Gray

Folty

Lynn/Cobb

Newcomb/Soroka

Dickey/Soroka/Gohara/Allard

All a pipe dream, but the finances would likely work and it would make us a very good team.

No way Gray costs that much. Anderson, Pache, and Wisler/Blair....

Bold prediction: we won't buy anything at the deadline.

How many times have these national writers claimed we were in the mix over the last year plus? And how many times have we given up prospects for something?

I think we might get a controllable BP piece or something.

Regarding Gray, i think he's Yankee bound.
