Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

I think it would take two of Albies, Acuna, Wright, Soroka, Allard to get Quintana. I wouldn't do it at that price.

Sox fans are starting to freak out that Hahn might take a quantity over quality package for Q.

If Coppy somehow gets Q for one of Allard/Soroka plus other parts not named Albies, Acuna, Maitan or Wright, he will have pulled off a brilliant move.

I just can't see the Braves winning the Q bidding with such a middling package...though maybe the Sox love Soroka or Allard.

However, if the Yanks absolutely won't include Frazier or Torres, the Astros won't include Martes or Tucker, and the Rockies won't include Rodgers, suddenly one of Allard/Soroka becomes the best headliner available. I have no idea who else they would want though...unless they want to stock up on more 2nd tier pitching prospects.

Wouldn't it be nice to have Mallex as a trade chip right about now? I have to think Soroka or Allard plus Mallex gets the Braves almost all the way to acquiring Q.

I would totally do Q for Allard or Soroka + lesser pieces. I'm still okay not having Mallex... I think we got a really good one in Gohara.

Jahmai Jones and Brandon Marsh are both Atlanta-area products that were drafted in the 2nd round by the Angels in consecutive years (Jones 2015, Marsh 2016). I kind of hoped the Braves would have drafted Jones out of his school in 2015. Marsh is a solid prospect as well.

I'd do Allard/Gohara/Camargo for Quintana.

Think that gets it done? I don't know. But a pretty good package.

I'm not trading Albies or Acuna unless someone like Fulmer is coming back

Would you have traded Teheran for that package 1-2 years ago?

I think Hahn is playing the Braves as a tool to get the Astros or Yanks to come off one of their premium position players.

I can't imagine Coppy is dumb enough to give up any of the Top 3 position prospects in the system for a #2...when they have a million pitchers with #2 upside already in the system.

If this goes down it has to be young pitching for Q. Nothing else makes sense...even from this FO.

Let's also not go crazy trusting everything on Twitter. This is the time of year when every person on Twitter claims to have sources.

I mean we need Maitan, Acuna, and Albies. We really can't afford to trade them away.

I don't believe for a second they would trade Maitan and Acuna right now.

I'd be ok with Allard plus Touki or something similar. But I don't see the White Sox going for that kind of deal and I also would expect some other team to bid higher.

My no trade list no matter what includes Acuna, Albies, Allard, Soroka, Maitan.

I think a package of Gohara, Anderson, Toussaint and Jackson gets Quintana

Not to get into semantic too much, because I agree not to give up the farm for Quintana, but slightly worse than last year? He was fantastic last year.

I know. Teheran's wild value fluctuation makes me concerned about our price when acquiring pitchers and how much we are sacrificing.

Quintana is a good player but he isn't worth all our prospects. I could go for an Enscheff/Jay deal above but not more. If we sacrifice Albies for this I'd be pretty furious.

I'd rather get a great position player if we're using our assets like this.

I would add Wright to the no trade list. I think the package you mention is close but probably not quite enough. Probably need to add one more guy outside the top 100.

I have a little trouble with why the Yankees would make Gleyber untouchable.

His numbers aren't astounding and he was going to play out of position and now is out with Tommy John.

I thought the whole point of being the Yankees was that you didn't have to depend on this kind of asset.

Not braves related - I would just hold to my guns if I was dealing with Yankees.

I don't think they can trade Wright yet, can they?

Sorry saw your response.

Im not the Gm and i know is a very hard job. But if we trade Allard and Soroka for Archer that should be enough? If we do that trade we still have Wright, Anderson, Gohara, Wentz, Muller, Sims, Fried, Toussaints and a set rotation for the next 5 years basically.
