Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

It was reported there's 4 players going to the Sox. Clarkin, Ruth, and Clippard. Not sure if it's a big money guy from NY or a lower level prospect.

In general other than Rutherford, Yankees arent giving up that much. Still keeping Mateo, Gleybar, Frazier, Fowler, Sheffield, Adams, Florial, and Andrujar.

It's a prospect, but the fact that the Yanks are sending Clippard to unload any amount of money is notable. They never do that.

And nothing other than Rutherford? Nothing other than a Top 30-35 position prospect? Yeah, that's nothing of note haha.

I know you are going to downplay this trade to keep your "Braves are #1" narrative alive, but the ChiSox just made an incredible move packaging these pieces together to get a significant return. I have been stating the Braves need to do the same thing for a month now...but they think they can contend.

Im talking nothing as in they didnt get Rutherford AND another top 100 prospect in return.

Clippard, a low pitching prospect, and Rutherford isnt a fleece. Getting Rutherford is a great get though, kid can hit.

And yes, Braves top system isnt crazy, but White Sox system is certainly loaded, no arguing that.

Sarcasm?

There's a ton of good bats set to be available that winter and we should have some money to spend by then.

Yes i understand there great and good players but what i mean is that the player the Braves need to try to make sure come back is Kimbrel. The other we will see.

I wouldnt make a play for Kimbrel by then.

He'll be 31-32 by then and be poised to get overpaid.

We have a glut of arms we can put at closer anyway, interested to see if Minter could be up for the task by then.

Well is the same with player like Donaldson. He is right know 31 by 2019 will be 33 and he will be over pay. But look at player like Mariano Rivera, Trevor Hoffman they dominated Baseball at late 30's.

We need to move Kemp or Markakis and get a player like JD Martinez that he is playing great and he will don't have any draft compensation attach.

To NYY: Robertson, Kahnle and T. Frazier
To CWS: Rutherford, Clarkin, Clippard and Polo

Good deal for both sides, wouldnt say a fleecing either way.

Packaging those parts together to get Rutherford was very good move.

I hope Coppy is paying attention.

Took one big headliner over multiple good pieces, smart strategy.

If we trade Julio who seems like we'll deal next, hopefully we do the same. But needs to rebuild his value back first.

Coppy can do something similar by packaging 2-3 of Adams, BP, Garcia, Suzuki, Viz and JJ. He obviously won't get a prospect of Rutherford's caliber, but a Top 100 guy isn't out of the question.

He has to get this silly notion of contending out of his head first though.

If we go 1-6/2-5 this week, that will probably knock us out of contention. Or lose every game this week.

But i agree a package of Adams, Garcia, and another piece could net a top 100 prospect. Individually they wont bring much in return.

The Braves are out of contention now.

This stupid notion that the Braves are contenders likely caused the Braves to miss out on their only real trade partner for Adams already (if Frazier goes to 1B).

Let's stop with the silliness and face reality, mmkay?

I never thought we were legit contenders but to Coppy and others a bad week would put him in sell mode.

Comprende?

Great, too bad it took that long. Contenders have already made deals for parts the Braves should be selling. Meanwhile, Coppy is wasting time looking to add "win now" pieces.

Quintana would have been a great add depending what we had to give up.

Great contract and AL to NL always works.

But i agree the trade partners are lessening but there's still about 1.5 weeks til the deadline
