Interesting to see that the Dodgers are interested in BOTH Castillo and Gray. Apparently the Reds have to drastically cut payroll this winter.
If they settled for Castillo alone, Gray is an even better fit than Greinke IMO. Much better Pitcher today, and he's making Smyly dollars in 2022. If AA's really trying to add another flag or two and is actually considering moving on from Freddie, spending that money on Rizzo and Marte, bringing back Rosario and Soler, and rolling with a Morton/Fried/Gray/Anderson rotation would bring payroll in around $170 million this year. If Soroka somehow makes it back, Gray's 2023 money is optional so you could cut 2023 costs there if needed.
