Harper has been cleared to play by a doctor and is going straight into the Phillies lineup tomorrow. No rehab assignment. Good for him for coming back soon, but shocked he isn't going on a rehab assignment before returning.

Also just shocking how quickly he’s returning. There’s got to be some risk with that.

Agreed. If a doctor cleared him to play, great. But with my franchise player, i'm making sure he is getting in some rehab games to make sure his swing is fine and let him get his timing down.

Their manager said something along the lines of “if he’s healthy enough to play we want him doing it here.” Yeah…

I genuinely think this is where they were when he said this. They were playing like **** and I think were a bit panicked despite it being early. Those fans turn sour quick and I think they were feeling pressure. Could definitely be wrong but moving him along so quickly, and right to the ML team, is not something you see very often.

They went out and spent a good bit of cash this offseason to follow up on their WS run. So getting off to a bad start is definitely not ideal. But they haven't really gotten into the NL East schedule yet.
 
They are going to finish third - at best- in their own division (don’t sleep on the fish) and the wildcard is going to be difficult with the Pirates off to the start they are on…… if I were they, I’d be nervous too- Houston series notwithstanding………..just sayin’ ….

I wonder if they changed CB's approach or if it is just a fluke.. he is hitting the ball harder than he ever has and by a good bit. But he isn't pulling the ball, his pull rate is lower than career, he seems to be hitting it up the middle and in air more. Something I wish Riley would do more instead of pulling off the ball..
