So if Wright is cooked, we may be in the market for a pitcher at the deadline. I'm guessing Soroka will get the call soon, but we might see a couple Dodd/Shuster starts in between that.

Lucas Giolito is my favorite in the trade market at this point. He's a rental and not an ace level pitcher, so the cost should be fairly affordable.

It's gonna depend on how Soroka looks, honestly. SP probably becomes the top need though if Wright is toast.

Fried would like that trade

It means something to me - that division crown is truly representative of who won something meaningful. The playoffs are too much of random crapshoot …. At least that’s what I told myself during the 90s … and I hope I’m not repeating that again for the rest of this decade.

We are on pace to win this thing by 12-15 games. And I really like the idea of that - coast in healthy and rested and then unleash hell on the Dodgers and then Yankees /Astros …
Fried Strider Soroka in a playoff series ? Love that …

And - let’s be honest- watching the misery of the Mets and Phillies fans as we pull away all summer is going to be delicious

Braves have the best run diff in NL.. 3rd in MLB... Cubs weirdly have the 4th best in MLB but sit 3rd in the central. What does this mean.. something, nothing, niether, both... tune in next week to find out the answer...

do those tears season as well as ripping the division away on the last day. I mean, I would rather coast in as well.. but specifically to the misery and tears of those losers.. which are better.

Being 5 games up early is nice. Especially when we have not been at full health all season.

Still a lot of baseball to be played. Last year, being 10 games back, I thought for sure we were done. But the Mets will figure it out, it's just a matter of time.

Didn’t realize the Braves won the division already.

Getting a title already will help ease any playoff problems this team has in the remainder of this run. Would love to get another one especially with Ronnie leading the way. But winning them is hard. Braves dominated the 90's and early 00's to get 1 ring. Dodgers are in the same boat and looking like they may be on the tail end of their run of dominance.

Mets won't figure anything out if age/injury has finally caught up to Scherzer. Verlander makes his first start today. Will be interesting to see if he can shake off the rust and stay healthy throughout the year. The rest of their rotation is mediocre to bad. They can score some runs though.

Getting Ohtani would likely extend that window out a good bit further. Friggin Clayton Kershaw is a just a damn machine.
