Official official offseason thread

So you basically have cubs, dodgers, Red Sox, giants, padres, and braves for Xander, dansby, and Correa.

Xander prob goes to Red Sox, so remove them for dansby and Correa

Dodgers out on Correa.

So...
Cubs, dodgers, giants, padres, and braves for dansby

Cubs, giants, padres, and braves for correa

That right?

Good to see the Yanks bring their guy back. Wish we followed a similar philosophy. Best infield in the game in '21 with a championship to half of it gone in less than two years. I used to think much of Anthoupolus but the Jays can have him back for all I care. Also don't care to hear McGuirk and Schiller brag about the top five payroll anymore.

Lol I think you're my favorite poster. Every board needs a poster like you to stir the nonsense pot.

Sounds like Xander back to Boston, Correa to SF/Min, Dansby to Cubs.

It’s just weird to me that we’ve heard crickets on the SS front. If AA wanted Iglesias or Andrus he would have by now but they don’t move the needle from what we already have. He’s probably waiting on one of the bigger guys to make a decision.

What are dodgers doing at SS?

Could see a trade for a guy like Rosario but yeah, kinda surprised they're not in on Correa. Dansby would make sense for them but idk if they wanna go to 6 years for him.

I think AA wants one more reliever. We'll be without Matzek. Kenley is gone.

Or he does his usual midseason trade like he did for Rasiel.

Currently we're at:

Iglesias, McHugh, Anderson, Yates, Chavez, Santana, Lee, Minter. Yeah probably need one more arm. Only arms i trust there are McHugh, Minter and Iglesias. Trading Pina for a BP arm on a similar deal makes some sense.

Is your opinion that Olson’s bat is on par with Ozuna’s bat before all the off the field stuff?

Also isn’t Olson historically regarded as a really good to great fielder? This past season he had his defensive issues but he’s always been regarded as a good fielder. Ozuna never was. Not even when he hit his way into a gold glove.

Olson is a bat-only player, no matter how good/valuable folks think his defense is. If he weren't a bat-only player he wouldn't be playing 1B.

I don't see us getting Correa, but man...

Acuna
Correa
Riley
Olson
Harris
Albies
TDA
Rosario/grossman (maybe)
Ozuna/contreas

Thank you for listing out the lineup with Correa in it. I had forgotten the current lineup so it was helpful to see it.

Don't disagree regarding being "disappointed" this offseason, but as someone mentioned earlier, a lot of our heavy lifting was done during the season. SS, LF, and/or bullpen are the only areas to address this offseason. Based on the prices, it doesn't make sense to over spend. So I expect Dansby to be gone.

I don't think it has anything to do with Liberty. They have said multiple times they want us to be a top 5 payroll team, and right now, the Braves and the Battery are a cash cow.

There have been no fewer than 5 articles posted in this thread explaining how the Braves ae already a "Top 5 payroll team".

The payroll is larger than any of us could have realistically hoped 5 years ago, and it has been used to pay for a very good team that should be very good for almost the entire 2020s.

lol lighten up here, it’s fun to see it and read it and think about it.

Can someone be so kind as to post the probable rotation? Please include the "depth" of 5th SP options too!

I'll grab my box of tissues and come back to read the list!
