Official official offseason thread

Lastella DFA’d. Salary of 11.5M but a “tax salary” of only 6.25M.

A swap based around Ozuna 16.25M “tax salary” would net a plus of $10M in tax salary relief

Obviously there would need to be more moving parts

The Giants didn’t DFA LaStella because of money. They let him go because they needed a roster spot. So in the Giants opinion, LaStella was the worst player on their roster.

No thank you to that trade idea. The power upside of Ozuna makes him the better player IMO.

Braves get Lucas Luetge from the Yanks. Pretty solid lefty reliever. good move

For Caleb Durbin and Indigo Diaz. The Yankees had just DFA'd Leutge.

Diaz at one point last year looked like he was going to be a quick riser and could be a late inning bullpen weapon. Just walked too many guys this year.

Durbin was a 15th round pick in 2021.

Braves DFA'd Lewin Diaz

BP looks like: Lee, Luetge, Minter, Iggy, McHugh, Jimenez, Yates, Anderson/Santana/Chavez for last spot (if we carry 3 lefties).
