I still think Bryant is the target and has been, they are just waiting to see the grievance settled.

Lol by the time MLB settles this grievance it’ll be two years and he’ll be a free agent. MLB is just toying with us and everyone else by burying their head in the sand and waiting for this to just resolve itself.

Only way signing an OF makes sense is if we trade Waters or Pache for KB or Arenado. Not that I’d trade either for KB, but I’d trade either for Arenado if we can get Arenado to wave his opt out.

Does nobody pay attention when we discuss the surplus value of players? Pache or Waters for Arenado would be a big overpay. If the Rockies were gonna send a truck load of cash alongside Arenado, then maybe. But without cash, Bryant is the more valuable asset.

I know Ozuna is linked to St. Louis and another team (can’t remember who). But is Castellanos currently linked to anyone?

If St. Louis does sign Ozuna and Castellanos signs with someone else we’re kind of boned.

I truly think if we do trade for Arenado we’ll likely want cash back, which would necessitate us sending Pache or Waters.

For whatever reason Nick Senzel is a name that always seems to come up in Reds trade rumors. Maybe he could be an out of the box trade candidate.

Yeah it just sounds weird to say that you'd be willing to send Pache in exchange for the less valuable asset without mentioning a bunch of cash. Personally, I don't think there is a realistic chance that the Rockies would send enough money back to warrant sending Pache to them.

Castellanos has been linked to Rangers, Cubs, Giants.

Ozuna linked to Cards, Reds, Rangers, White Sox.

Can you imagine the meltdown if both sign elsewhere?

There's probably only 4-5 options, those 2, Arenado, Bryant, and Haniger/Seager deal. Cant see AA spend all that money on the pen, 18 mil on Hamels, 8 mil on TDA, and not get a cleanup hitter of some kind.

Bryant makes the most sense if the Cubbies will be reasonable. Riley, Anderson, Waters is not reasonable.

I've been sorta anti-Haniger/Seager trade, but at this point that may be the best realistic option if the money can be sorted out properly.

I'll pass on the Haniger part considering the likely prospect cost to include him.

What would a Clevinger deal need to look like if you put Waters in it? Riley and Ender (helps pay down the money) for Seager and something (?), sign Ozuna or Castellanos to hit between Freddie and Seager, trade Waters plus (?) for Clevinger, and leave Newk in the pen.

Play Acuna in CF until Pache's called up, then move Markakis to the bench.

Yes so how much money we will be adding to the club?

Bryant makes the most sense if they're reasonable, which they havent shown they have been.

Jose Ramirez have a team friendly contract with 4 years left. He is just 27 years old plus switch hitter if i am not wrong.
