AA is just as much to blame here. He could set the policy of how Acuna needs to be handled. The fact he hasn't makes me think there are more considerations than dinosaur management.

I got into it with a Braves' fan on another forum when I griped about the putrid nature of the bench. Bypassing someone like Grichuk sitting out there just seems ridiculous.
I saw Kike Hernandez signed with the Dodgers for $4 MM. Hernandez probably opted for a system in which he has some familiarity and where he has some trust as to how he will be used. Hernandez would have been a perfect fit on the Braves' bench, but it's likely he wants between 350 and 400 ABs and the most anyone on the Braves' bench outside of the d'Arnaud/Murphy tandem will get is probably in the low-100s.

Vaughn Grissom injured. Likely to start season on the DL. Apparently the injury bug wasnt a part of the trade. Gotta be frustrating to trade an injury prone player only for the injury prone player to be healthy and the prospect to get injured immediately.

Is mlb gameday classifying Waldreps Splitter as a slider? I thought he was supposed to have a great splitter but I dont see it listed as being thrown.
With how old he is its probably a real life forum in the bingo hall he goes to.
I just went back and watched his outing. Whatever he was throwing at 87-88 appears to have cut action rather than the fade usually seen with splitters and changes. He is very over the top, so it’s likely his split goes straight down or maybe even cuts a bit as a result. That’s maybe why it was being called a slider.

Lots of speculation it is a meniscus tear... if so, it wouldn't be horrible news. Surgery would keep him out only around 4 weeks... upper bound probably 6 weeks.
Even if it is very minor - a grade one or two, my money is they go ahead and do the meniscus surgery right now and he’s playing April 1. His long term career and earning potential will obviously outweigh rushing back, but this is the most minor ortho issue in our dictionary. And his running around stealing bases has nothing to do with it - if that Meniscus was gonna partial tear, it was just as likely running down a fly ball in warmups- and would have happened sooner or later - so paradoxically, Snitker should get a lollipop that this happened now.
