Profar is a switch hitter.
I’d do that if we could work something out with Cease.

You know who his agent is right?

Also a terrible hitter before last year.
You know who his agent is right?
Common knowledge.
Boy all this talk about Arraez but he's projected for what, 14M next year? Ouch. Thats a lot of scratch for a no power, or defense player.
Anyone wanting Arraez is clueless. It is now understood empty BA guys like him aren't actually valuable because it's not the 1980s anymore.
Cease makes just as much sense now as he always has, but folks reminding us that he is unlikely to sign an extension are 100% correct.
Profar only makes sense because he's an actual MLB player at a position of need, and the Braves don't have actual MLB players at that position. It's not like anyone is excited at the idea of Profar in LF, but at this point any actual MLB player is better than what's currently on the roster...which is nothing.
The interesting thing about Profar is he significantly increased his average exit velocity from his usual 87 mph to 91 last year, and did so without sacrificing any contact or plate discipline. If "swinging harder" really did turn him into a legit .350+ xwOBA bat, then suddenly he's a much better option in LF and becomes mildly exciting to follow as a player.
yeah.. he should be free basically.. I would peg him as a 2 win player for 1 year. and at ~15 million.. that should be a lottery type prospect at the most. Putting him in LF would probably make him closer to zero wins as I think LF gets dinged more than 2nd base in WAR calcs... (could be wrong).
His zips projection (2.5) has -12 def value already factored in. Going yo lf might actually help it.
Is there any reason to think Arraez can capably play left field? He's played 48 games there in his career, none since he was in his early 20's in Minnesota. Isn't he painfully slow?
right his -12 def value would be less in LF, which is why he would get a ding on his WAR projection. Infield usually start with a positive Dwar because it is a harder position to play.. Sans 1b.

Someone that immediately came to mind who made the switch was Alfonso Soriano. His last 2 years at 2nd he was at -10 and -26 DRS. A switch to left and he was +18 and +17 the next two seasons.
