Ozzie Albies thread

Ugh, SATs. I was pretty bad at any test with a penalty for guessing.

Luckily schools I cared about only cared for ACT, which was fine

In all seriousness, wondering what type of player he eventually will be. He goes up there not even looking to work the count or draw a walk. Just really hope we're not seeing Rougned Odor part two.

Dude is on fire right now, and has been great virtually all year. I don’t think now is the time to worry too much about that.

Bump, with an update through 7/10:

145 games played, 659 PA's. 38 doubles, 8 triples, 24 homers, Slash line .285, .335, .493.. oWAR 4.3, dwar 0.7.

But here's the best part, IMHO: BABIP .307 (sustainable) HR/FB 8.8% (sustainable, the MLB average is 9.6%).

That, friends, is a jump-start to a HOF career.

And, before any of you say "Rougned Odor", there's really no comparison. Ozzie has a WAR of 4.6 through 659 PAs. Through age 21, Odor had accumulated 1.9 WAR with 887 PAs.

Yup, Albies is legit.

Good thing Wren signed him.
Good thing Coppy didn't trade him when Demeritte made him expendable.
Good thing he was given a chance after struggling in AAA after the elbow injury.
Good thing they didn't demote him like GeorgiaGirl wanted.

Too bad he didn't maintain that 20% HR/FB rate though.

My favorite was still clv wanting to trade him for Dee Gordon last year

LOL!

Try this offer...

Albies, Wisler, Ruiz, and Bartolo for Prado and Dee Gordon.

Gordon replaces Albies long-term, and getting Bartolo off the books this year pays for one of the guys we add. More or less breaks down to Wisler and Ruiz for Prado, Albies for Gordon, and the Fish take Big Sexy's money to make it work for us financially - PLUS we get the benefit of plugging Newcomb/Sims into the rotation for the rest of the season to get their feet wet. We could even include Dat Dude if they want to hold off on Albies until next spring.

I can't believe I forgot this total boner of an idea haha!!

I think I need to find a way to squeeze it into my sig LOL!

Did he hear it on xm radio in the car while driving between realty picture taking jobs?

Or did he come up with it all on his own?

I'm just glad Albies is a Brave. As frustrated as many of us have been lately, we have a really talented core in Atlanta!

The reason I mentioned Odor was because he's someone of similar stature and K rate and BB rate at the same age. As well as someone who hits for pop.

To his credit, Albies appears to be someone who will be willing to make adjustments. He seems like an overall great teammate and loves to play the game. Odor on the other hand seems like a total jerk, so arrogance could be a factor.
