Postseason Thread

Ugh. I guess the bright side is we can start making moves tomorrow.

From ESPN: According to Elias, the Royals are the first team to win 3 games in a single World Series in which they trailed in the 8th inning or later.

Remember in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Astros when the Royals were down 6-2 after seven innings and were having the recap of their season being written?

There's no shame in J.S and Bobby having some pride in this... J.S groomed Dayton Moore. Bobby groomed Ned Yost..... As someone said, J.S and Bobby had their moments in the sun. They can be proud to pass it on. Now, not saying the Royals are about to reel off 14 straight division titles or nothing but.... they helped make this possible

Keep losing so we can stock up on top draft picks like they did.

I think the big thing for Braves' fans is reamaining patient and not buy the 2017 stuff from the front office. In turn, I hope the front office is patient and doesn't start making a bunch of short-sighted moves just to be a middling team by 2017.

Dayton has made some odd moves during his tenure and I can remember all the harping on him when he traded Wil Myers, Jake Odorizzi, and two minor leaguers for Shields and Davis. I'm no great baseball mind, but I defended that deal as a classic now-for-later deal. No one saw Wade Davis developing into this, but that trade came up roses for the Royals. Don't get me wrong; I think Odorizzi may be something special and jury is out on Myers, but the Royals wouldn't have been where they ended up the last two years without Shields and Davis.

They've drafted pretty well, but again, it takes time for even the highest draft picks to develop into solid major league players.

It worked out ok, but when looking at the parts, there isn't much difference between Odorizzi and Shields and they lost Shields in FA. The only reason the deal wasn't brutal was Davis ended up being a stud reliever and Holland went out hurt.
