You need to look at adjusted numbers based on the systems they play in. Its stupid to compare the two receivers numbres without understand the system they play in. Thats like comparing an offensive player in Colorado to someone in Seattle (baseball).

Yeah, because early in his career we threw it all over the place. Dude. We pounded the rock with Turner.

No.

LB in the middle will be fine. The two rookies off the street played very well at first. Faded as they hit the wall. Mass should be ok at OLB as well. They won't have OL all over them like last year. We played primarily a 3-4 last year too.

Tony was not a run blocker. As much as an asset as he was, he was an old dog with no new tricks (learning to run block). He was not an asset in the run game in any way shape or form. Especially down in the red zone. The big guy we have (6'7) should at the very least be a capable bloker and at worst a red zone target. I don't think much of him, but he would have to be a total disaster not to catch 3-4 Tds, and block much better than Tony.

Anything else?

How is your secondary good? Moore and Trufant are good.

I've never heard of Alford or Lowery; are they good players? I know Josh Wilson sucks bc I've seen him for years.

Tony G will for sure be better than Toilolo in the pass and overall. But the Falcons run game will be better without Tony as he's not good at blocking. The difference between Tony and Toilolo should easily be made up with plenty of room to spare by a healthy Roddy and Julio. Falcons number 1 WR option for like half of their games was Harry Douglas. LBs will be a question mainly the rush end. I think Worrilow and Bartu will be fine in the middle. Maybe a hair undersized but not much. Biermann is baiscally made for a 3-4 drop.

Falcons secondary had one person who sucked, Decoud, who's not on the team anymore. Trufant was one of like the 10 best corners in the NFL as a rookie, Alford should be at least as good as Samuel if not better. Moore is one of the best safeties in the NFL and Lowery is a below average safety but should be a massive improvement over Decoud.

Per PFF Lowery has acutally been a positive graded FS throughout his career (after he converted from CB). He just has trouble staying healthy. PFF pegged him as our guy to watch as a breakout candidate.

Moore and Trufant are great.

Alford is young and extremely talented. He was considered a great value pick for the Falcons in the second last year.

Lowery isn't anything special, probably below average. But Decoud was ****ing terrible.

II saw that, but I think a healthy chunk of that has to do with the ability of the guys around him. With Trufant basically locking down one side, Moore locking down the inside, and Alford being quality as the other corner he can sit back and play centerfield.

I love how Trufant is great after one season. Geez man, thats worse than me.

If someone comes out of the gate as amazing as him you take notice. His skillset is there as well. It's not like he's a guy from leftfield. He was a highly regarded CB prospect who was expected to be one of the better ones.

I am not surprised you don't know the nuances of everyones roster. You probably should though before making blanket statements.

Alford is a solid corner coming into his second year. Played well learning last year (Cbs have a steep learning curve in their first years). Took Asante's job. Lowery is good in coverage, weak against the run per PFF. Just needs to stay healthy, that has been an issue with him.

I don't think Josh Wilson was signed to do more than special teams and bench warmer. Robert McClain was our nickel corner and we drafted a guy. I don't think Wilson is any higher than 5th on the CB depth chart, at best. But he started for you guys right?

what blanket statement have I made? I only remember asking questions about the secondary.

Well, considering how huge the learning curve is for rookie CBs, yes. You take notice. He was PFF's rookie of the year for mostly that reason.

And no it isn't worse than you.

before the beginning of 2013, yeah. He lost job to Amerson and was the slot guy.

Secondary sucked last year. I asked if it would still suck.

I answered.

You actually asked "how would they be good?"

I saw where Roto called him a 16 game starter. Figured some of that was in the slot after he was passed.

Alford was at a -.02 PFF grade half way through the season. He struggled vs Redskins (But we still won, whew) but was graded ahead of most of the rest of the CB class for the most part. Pretty good for a second round rookie. He had to jump to the NFL from SE Louisiana FCS ball. THAT is a huge learning curve.

Projected #Falcons Front 7: DEs Tyson Jackson/Jon Babineaux NT Paul Soliai OLBs Jon Massaquoi/K. Biermann ILBs Paul Worrilow/Joplo Bartu.

This is why i'm not sure the Falcons will be .500

Pass rush/Front 7 is abysmal.

OL is much improved with Matthews/Aso and some others.

I dont' get why people are expecting a huge regression from Foles. To me he has all the tools to be a successful QB. I love his size overall.

Play the NFC West, 1st-place schedule, lose DJax, among other things.

It's pretty unlikely he has a 27-2 TD/INT ratio next year.

Good QB but i need to see more before crowning him.

Also, no one has repeated in the NFC East in 7-8 years, may be longer.

He doesn't really have that many exciting tools. He doesn't have a big arm at all. He doesn't zip passes in there and he's not a runner. He showed good anticipation and timing last year, but I truly believe their offense being new and unseen before contributed to his success. Guys were wide open frequently, and I think the league will adjust at least a little bit. Desean is gone, and I don't think that can just be dismissed. They were, as a whole, extraordinarily healthy last year. Maclin was the only moderately major, decent player to miss time. The whole OL was totally healthy, McCoy was never banged up, etc. I also feel their defense overachieved last year and will regress, which will hurt the offense and put more pressure on Foles to actually make plays (which he really didn't do much last year).

Also, huge regression because 27/2 is stupid and simply will not happen again, or anywhere close. He threw multiple balls weekly that miraculously weren't picked. If he can't get rid of the ball quickly he gets in trouble.

Word for word, i agree, well said.
