So I am curious. The 49ers front office was crucified for their handling of Harbaugh even though he won games. Denver has barely been spoken about and they parted ways with Fox who also won games. Is it because Elway played in Denver and managed to get two rings before he hung em up?

To qualify my opinion first, I think Elway is a prick and I disagree with him firing Fox.

But I think the difference is that a lot of people kind of think John Fox is a pretty average coach. Whereas, Jim Harbaugh is arguably a top 3 guy. I think people view the Niners as taking everything to personally with JH.

This

SF fired a top 3, top 5 at worst coach for a DL coach.......

While Denvers move is really stupid, it's likely they hire someone on the same level as Fox.

It's not stupid, they werent going anywhere with Fox.

Fox is good if you need to rebuild/build your team back up but you arent going anywhere with him in terms of winning a title.

No big deal.

Harbs for Tomsula is mind boggling though.

Nothing you say ever makes sense.....

They won 13 games a year and were in the SB last year, how's that "not going anywhere"?

That has nothing to do with having a HOF QB, and lot of talent.

He's a good coach but those are facts.

This play is soooooo hypnotic.

Other than Rodgers, im not sure anyone else can make that throw.

In before BRuss says Wilson.

Few guys have the arm strength to make that play. Much less the athleticism to escape in the pocket. Guy is a serious freak of nature. If he cuts down on his INTs, he's top 5, maybe top 2. That's really his only flaw, but that may never change someguys are just risk takers.

It's arguably not that much of a demerit either. Favre was awesome and he's the all time worst risk taker.

One moment it's Quinn, the next Austin, the next it's Quinn again.

As long as it's the right person I don't care. Hopefully GB beats Seattle so we can lock Quinn down.

I don't get the impression they ever viewed Austin as anything more than a back up option.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that Quinn has been their top guy since the beginning. Both Ryan and Bowles contacted the Falcons before signing and we didn't make any effort to intercede (if you trust Ledbetter... Which is questionable).

I think it's pretty telling they are requesting OC interviews and refusing to let teams interview Tice and Armstrong without first having a HC signed. Pretty clear they have zeroed in on someone who is giving their blessing on hiring people.

Also, Luck has to constantly make plays. There is no run game and their defense is average. He has to take those risks sometimes, and those risks help him win games.

Obviously, I'm on the "I love Luck" boat. The guy is just absurd in every aspect. And he's still getting better.

@TheFalcoholic: Per @jeannathomas, a league source confirms Dan Quinn is likely to be the choice for #Falcons: http://t.co/x9NEFsjSxW

She reiterates that her source is rock solid.

I would be VERY interested in what choice he makes for OC. I don't think Tice is the guy, but he did a good job with the OL late.

This is a better hire than Bowles IMO, i never thought he was a serious option for us for some reason.
