REAL FOOTBALL Thread

OK, Ryan, let's go get a win. More inept secondary play allowed that field goal to happen. I know people have covered Evans before without holding onto him. I know they have.

I don't think you remember that this is four brand new guys, and was projected to be one of the worst units in the league this year.

And it's sad to watch an NFL line get pushed like that. So, what's your point? We're eight games into the season now. They should be improving.

In any event, there are plenty of reasons we lost. Can't win them all, but you have to win games like that if you want any shot at a division title and favorable seeding. Then again, we're extremely lucky to be 6-2. Really should be 3-5.

Falcons are really looking like a soft fraud at this point. I knew they weren't a great team, but after a 5-0 start I thought they were at least legit. Home loss to Tampa is pretty sad.

Why even bother being a fan if you're gonna be that pessimistic? Going into this week we had the 7th most efficient offense and 17th most efficient defense, and yet we should be 3-5? At worst we "should be" 4 and 4 without the awesomeness that is Matt Ryan's clutch comebacks being a factor.

Philly would be a loss without a missed field goal. Washington and Tennessee were very close to being. So yeah, you're right maybe 4-4. Not being pessimistic, just tired of these kind of performances. Nothing to feel good about nearly losing to Tennessee and then losing at home to Tampa. Overall, 6-2 is great, and I've been really impressed with Quinn, but you have to put it all in context. Losses like this come back to bite you every time. But weren't you the one who said he wasn't going to watch the Braves much this year because they traded Heyward?

And it wasn't though, was it? And that's because of a lot of the problems we saw today. So save me the self-righteous BS about find another team. I think it's a positive we've been able to win these games and think maybe we haven't played our best football yet. But we've got to start getting these things corrected. Ryan has been clutch, but if we keep putting the ball on the ground, it's not going to matter.

BTW, since the NFL pretends to care about player safety, which really extends to not allowing a QB to be hit in the helmet, maybe it is time to do away with these full-speed kickoff plays. Or start kicking people out of games for that type of blindside crap.

Nah Dallas is a pile of trash franchise as it is. Sorry CC. Jones thinks winning above all else is what matters and they don't even win anyway. I feel bad for guys like Romo and Witten because they deserve better. It's mainly the Hardy stuff and how Jerry continues to defend him.

I would be perfectly okay with teams getting the ball at the 20 after a score. It's a safety problem right now. Only question I would pose. What do we do when a team is down and needs to recover an onside kick? Or those surprise onside kicks?

We're 6-2 and you're bitching because we're not the Pats or Bengals. Take a chill pill. We're playing very well and yes we've gotten lucky, but almost every team has wins they can look back at and were lucky to win.

Make coaches be more efficient with timeouts? Idk. I'm not sure you can take away kickoffs. Just pointing out the hypocrisy among the league officials.
